Jessica's New Man
It's hard to spot Jessica Simpson these days without Ken Paves by her side, but be clear, he's not trying to fill the void left by Nick Lachey, he's her stylist.
Paves started out doing hair for strippers just to make ends meet, but eventually worked his way up and was paired with Simpson by her record label eight years ago. The two have taken their relationship an extra step forward lately though, working together to volunteer for Operation Smile, an organization that performs surgery on disfigured children around the world.
They have also are working on their own brand of hair extensions, and plan to team up with a wig manufacturer to provide extensions and wigs to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
"We're not curing cancer or things like that, but we can help," he says of their new endeavors.
The charities hit close to home for the stylist though, he was motivated to volunteer with Operation Smile in memory of his nephew who died of a chromosomal disorder called trisomy.
"I did make a commitment to myself that I would never turn away a charity, especially for children, because I want to be a man of my world for my nephew...it is for him that I'm doing it."
Between his charity time and work for Simpson, Paves also tussles the tresses of Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Brittany Murphy, Avril Lavigne and Eva Longoria.
