Spelling Mansion Secretly On the Market

TMZ has learned that Candy Spelling, Aaron's widow, has quietly put the Spellings' legendary mansion on the market for $150 million.

Sources in the real estate industry say Westside Estate Agency (WEA) has a pocket listing on the 56,000 square foot estate, meaning it is quietly being shopped among realtors and select buyers. The mansion, located in the exclusive Holmby Hills area of L.A., was completed in 1991 for around $47 million, which includes $10 million for the land.

One real estate source says Candy Spelling has let a lot of people on the staff go and that the buzz is that she is going to shut the house down so it can be shown by realtors. Aaron Spelling died on June 23.

2. I think most actors are over-paid A LOT. Aaron produced the shows we all watched for years. He deserved the house & all the perks that went with it. If his wife got her share of his wealth-she's set for life, but IF she gets what she's asking for the house, I definately think she should donate a LARGE portion of the $ that she'll probably never live long enough to spend to worthy causes-like homeless shelters, food for the homeless, clothes, child care, etc.
Thanks for listening-BJ Lee

3. Star Jones reportedly wanted to buy up this pad, but since she was canned from The View, she now claims she can only afford a trailer home in Texas.

5. Wow, I wonder what the mortage is on $150 mil! Too much for me! lol The US is quickly becoming like the corrupt nations we 'monitor' ie. mexico. This is a great example of the have's and the 'have way too much-es'

7. Back off everyone, my agent is already in negotiations for this pad, it's barely big enough to be my babe-stable. I'm The HOFF!!!

8. I don't blame anyone for wanting to sell that place. Can you imagine living in that "hotel" atmosphere, with most of the rooms vacant? About the profit, so what, should she just give it away for less than what it's worth? I don't think so...

9. Back off everyone, my agent is already in negotiations for this pad; it's barely big enough to serve as my babe-stable. You WISH you were me....I'm The HOFF!

10. Loosen up liberals! That place will sell for half that and probably for cash. It is outrageously huge, expensive and will take another TV or movie magnate to support. You are the people who will pay for it by watching all the trash on TV instead of reading books and paying attention to your kids. In that neighborhood it can never be a hotel so it will take another Hollywood mogul to buy it.

11. Get a life everone. Her house , if she wants to sell then I say way to go Candy. Don't come up with any bull like give it to the homeless. I don't see any one telling Gates to give his money to the poor.

12. I can't believe the outright envy I'm hearing in the above comments. Grow up. Learn to earn and you'll think differently.

BTW... This is called capitalism. You can earn as much .. or as little as you choose. The government is not taking your tax money to 'make rich people richer', nor does it hold you down from making money ... as corrupt nations do. ...Losers

13. If you give a crap about this subject, you are a loser.

15. Even though 150 million is a TON of money it is probably market value for a house that large and with that much land. Yes they built it for 47 million but that was 15 years ago and the land and house are worth much more now. Anyone with that kind of money is not going to buy something just because it was Aaron Spelling's so I am sure it is what the property is worth.
