"Material Girl" Chooses Motherhood Over Money

MadonnaDespite spending the summer crucified on a cross, dancing in a leotard and writhing on a horse saddle, the world's hottest 47-year-old mother of two has chosen traditional family values instead of milking her Australian fans for more cash.

Madonna has decided not to take her wildly successful Confessions Tour down under because her children, Lourdes and Rocco, need to get back to school.

On her official website
, Madge writes "We looked into going from Japan to Australia and ending the show there but I have to get my kids back to school in England and they are, as you can understand, my most important priority."

The pop queen goes on to say "I'm not retiring anytime soon and I am gonna get to Australia as soon as I can."

And for those of you wondering if Madonna is still relevant after all these years, according to pollstar.com, her Confessions Tour is already the top-grossing tour of 2006. It has raked in over $54 million and still has two more months to go before winding down in Tokyo on September 20.

--- Only the people from TMZ or the MORON who wrote this piece can believe this CRAP will not care about money, this MADONNA CRAP will sell her mother for a cup of coffee ---- if she cancelled the tour was because she wasn't selling tickets --- PLAIN + SIMPLE

8. If this is to be believed,I think Madonna is being very responsible.I know my children are first and foremost with me,so it is refreshing to see a famous mom be the same way with her bambini(babies). I personally applaud her. I think it is great to see her still going strong 20 years later. I liked her way back when I was in 8th grade, and I still like some of her stuff now. Good for you Madonna!

10.
She was cool once. The interest was lukewarm at best and the prices idiotic.

12. As to "Larry the cable guys" comments posted.
I blame public schooling for your awful grammer and rambling sentences.
As for her not selling out. Do your research moron. Everybody else on tour is cutting thier tours in half(at $40 and up) because sales are poor. Madonna (whose tickets START @ $100) has never had a show NOT sell out. Explain that one brainiac.
And saying she'd sell her mother for a cup of coffee. Have some morals, her mother passed away.
Go back to your small town hick ways, put the computer away and stop yer b****in'.
You only wish you had 1/10 of the cash flow this woman possesses and an incline of the brains it took to achieve it.
YOU are the waste that should be eliminated from this planet.

15. Hey Larry - You should be ashame of such an insensitive comment about Madonna's deceased mother. Yes, Madonna will forever be known as the ultimate 'Material Girl'; but her priorities have changed since she has become a mom herself. Money isn't everything (esp. when you already have hundreds of millions). Madonna doesn't want to be remembered as a successful, provacative pop star, but rather as a great mother. It's her number one priority!
