Voight to Jolie -- "Regards to....What's Her Name?"

Angelina Jolie's estranged father Jon Voight sent a shout out to his grandkids Saturday, but it seems like absence makes the memory grow weaker -- he royally screwed up one of the names.

At the fourth annual BAFTA Tea Party (BAFTA is the Oscars for Brits), Voight was talking with a reporter on the red carpet when he decided to send birthday wishes to Maddox, Angelina's five-year-old child. That went well, but then things took an ugly turn. Voight also sent well-wishes to "Shakira" -- problem is, he was talking about Angelina's 1 1/2-year-old daughter. Shakira is considerably older -- 29. The correct name -- Zahara. Close, but no cigar. Actors are famous for always getting another chance, and take two was perfect.

Jolie and her father haven't spoken since he went on "Access Hollywood" four years ago, urging her daughter to get help for her "mental problems."

9. don't forgive that washed up publicity grubbing whiner. if he really wanted to make a peace offering he wouldn't use such a public forum , and it wouldn't have killed him to put a little effort into it by researching. People will use any excuse to get at Angelina these days. it is a widely accepted practice for adult children with abusive parents to cut them loose, the only difference is her dad continues to insult her and her children in public.

10. Maybe it wasn't just about the statement he made 4 years ago? Maybe it was years of pain and she had enough and decided to cut him off? Alot of children become estranged from their parents for very good reasons and reconciling isn't easy. It's not something you just "get over." The fact that Jon keeps using public forums to make a big deal out it isn't helping the matter.

11. Poor guy. Considering he's probably never met the kid he can't really be faulted for messing up the name. Angelina is so selfish. Maybe she should consider that by keeping the feud up with her dad, she's keeping her kids from knowing their grandpa. Someday they might call her on it.

I just feel bad for the kids.........if you don't like your parents fine , but those kids already have no sense of family.......they are going to know they are adopted so they are already going to feel like they weren't wanted....and the one that is related is being kept away from real blood......maybe he doesn't derseve to know them......but those kids derseve the right to at least meet this guy ....she's just being selfish...he's apologized numerous times and all he can do is try and be a better grandfather then he was a father and he can't do that without an opportunity
