Scarlett -- Too Sexual for Italy?

Click to return to TMZ.comScarlett Johansson's curvy figure has always drawn a lot of attention, but it is too hot for the big screen? While promoting her new film "The Black Dahlia" at the Venice Film Festival, the buxom blonde was bombarded with questions about a raunchy sex scene with on and off-screen boyfriend Josh Hartnett.

Though some of the press has called the romp a distraction from the film, Johansson is optimistic about the scene. "It's hard to get a perspective on that when it is you, but I hope that is not true. I mean, it's nice to be sexy but hopefully that is not overwhelming, hopefully it is in balance with the rest of the story."

Johansson also told reporters she was only following the direction of Brian De Palma saying he wanted it to be "aggressive ... an exorcism of sorts."

Audiences can check out the scorching scene when the movie hits theaters next month, though you'd have to be crazy to have a problem with a sexed-up Scarlett.

1. When I was in Italy last year their commercials were beyond "sexy". haha So I would say no, she's not overly sexy for Italy. I love them both. Josh Hartnett is so hot.

2. Just my opinion here but I don't think this movie will do well, at least not in America.
The case of the Black Dahlia has never been solved, so this movie is just fiction, and it seems too morbid for most people.

4. I agree with Bachi. If Scarlett is in the buff, I;ll go see it, then I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD. She is what "OLD Hollywood" used to be. And hotter than hell. Oh.......and a good actress too ;)

7. Hey you, curve' lovers! Wait till she goes skinny, I am shure that day will come.
Look and La Lohan, Beyonce, Jessica Simpson and so many others who all praised curves and all, but then at different points of their lives went anorexic.

8. I think she did fine, every single inch of her ass in fact.The italians are italians that they don't like her is their problem, the US is #1 not italy and if they have a problem, they can take it up with the french.I hope she makes another dirty movie that premires in italy.

9. LIDA, what is wrong with loving curves? I would prefer a curvy bedmate to a lanky, bone protruding, skeleton. Of course body type has nothing to do with acting talent. Audrey Hepburn and Shelly Winters both won Oscars and not for their sizes.
Now lets compare Matthew McConoughey's and Woody Allen's bodies...
