Richie To Undergo Treatment

Nicole Richie has checked herself into a private facility for an undisclosed treatment. According to a statement from Richie's reps, published on E! News, "She is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition..."

Nicole will undergo diagnostic treatments to determine why she can't gain weight. Recent photographs of Richie have created a buzz in Hollywood that she may have issues with food.

Nicole's reps say "this is not a treatment for an eating disorder." The reps add that Nicole wants to deal with her weight issues in the healthiest possible way.

Production on the current season of "The Simple Life" will be put on hold indefinitely.

3. Brutal...TVgasm.com totally broke this hours ago and yet no one seems to give TVgasm.com any credit. guess the big guys feel the need to shut out the little guys who do all their work .

5. It's hard to gain weight when you sprinkle cocaine on your vodka. Hopefully she will beat her addiction to what ever she is addicted to.

7. Finially !!!! Someone has intervened and done something. It is obvious that she has an eating disorder. Whether or not it is caused by drugs at least she will be getting the help she so desperately needs. If she had waited any longer I am sure her life would have been on the line. She looks just like Karen Carpenter did right before she died. WHAT TOOK HER SO LONG ?

9. I figured she was probably back on drugs. I don't care if she feels the need to lie to the public about not being sure about what her problem is . as long as she's getting help.

11. So glad to hear she's finally getting the help she so desperately needs. I'm sick of seeing her out clubbing all the time when she clearly needs to prioritize her health and get this dealt with. Quit the hating and wish her health and happiness :-) All the best Nicole!

14. Her reps are obviously full of crap.

The best thing that could happen now is if she died. Countless of teenage girls would be inspired to stop their ridiculous weight obsessions. On the other hand, if Nicole survives this then she she'll continue being in the spotlight and all this will be forgotten... thereby diminishing the terrible influence she's had on girls.

15. How can someone who used to be over weight sit there and say "Why, I have no idea why I can't gain weight! I eat all the time!"? Well apparently it wasnt a problem to gain weight and keep it on before so I am gonna say she is full of it and is anorexic or has some disease!
