Richards said his diatribe was the result of "free association," adding, "It fired out of me."

Unfortunately, I wish I could be sympathetic to Mr. Richards and he use of the "N" word. Being a black person living in North America, I know what is like to be look up on as a black person. But, I will never stooped to the level of the ignorance of Mr. Richards or whoesever chose to do so. Whatever happen to his career his own fault and I guess the next time he just have to think before he speaks. He might say he is not a racist, but when the public look at different then you be the judge. The abolishment of slavery is long gone, but is slavery over in the time and age..You be the judge!
There is no doubt about it that he crossed the line and should take the heat for what he said. However, that being said, if Chris Rock said the exact same things to white people NO ONE WOULD GIVE A SH*T. Something to think about. I'm white and could care less if someone calls me a honkey or cracker. The N' word is just that. A word. It has as much meaning as you want it to. Don't give it so much power.
WOW. EVERYONE ON HERE IS A RACIST. BLACK AND WHITE. YOU PEOPLE THAT ARE ON CRUCIFYING OTHERS WHILE YOU ALSO SPEW YOUR HATRED. WHAT A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITS!!! YOU WILL ALL HAVE TO ANSWER TO GOD SOME DAY.
Richards was a victom of reverse racism, he was called a "cracker", why can't he say "nigger". Richard's was a victim of circumstance and proudly defended himself when racially attacked by some out of line blacks. Linch um all and let god sort it out. 311 forever RLVH
I don't accept Richards' apology because I think he is a racist. As a matter of fact I got more respect for a person letting you know they are racist, then the ones that hide behind a glass screen, or keep silent when they are in your face. At least now I know not to support this man, others who have hatred against me in thier heart and keep it silent are the dangerous ones. Still, I am not suprise at this type of hatred, it all too common ---- and reading comments across the internet, I don't see it leaving anytime soon. Indeed, we live in a very primitive society, and it's no wonder America is the laughing stock of the world.
Why is it ok when Blacks call each other a "NIGGA" ,Then it's ok when Blacks call whites "honky"..Blacks have "BLACK MISS AMERICA", THE BLACK CACCUS", AND many, many other insiteful, poor taste phrases they constatantly use. We ALL ignore it because "that's thier culture and that initself is WRONG, to accept the phrases they use openly.I know MANY,MANY blacks I would never, never consider to be a N---------, then again I know Many, many blacks AND whites I would call a "NIGGA "in a minute. If you act the part, you are the part.....it seems the squeaky wheel gets the grease once again, sit back and let it go once again and your allowing those loudmouth "poverty pimps" to get more and more "air" time and get thier faces on TV.Did you see "the group of so called "ministers sitting around the TV? I wonder how many of them actually said "he was mad and just made a mistake......I'm sorry for our country, our melting pot is boiling
For those who say that the comment was not racist take a look at who you are on the inside. That was the most racist thing I've heard in years. That came from the bottom of his sole, to talk about fifty years ago you would have been hung from a tree. What do most racists say when confronted about the topic? He said it "I'm not a racist." All he had to say to make the apology complete was "I have a lot of black friends." He is ignorant and at least we know where he stands now. In that fake apology he calls us Afro-Americans. That is as bad as saying the "N" word.
He is a piece of garbage and if you think the way he does you should burn to. You can't apolgize for something like that. I would have respected him more if he would not have apologized and stood by what he said. He is a coward and should burn!
First of all, some of the comments on this board are quite disturbing and it's sad that some people in America still have attitudes about blacks thinking we are all on welfare, etc.
However, back to the Michael Richards issue...
As for all of you who are saying, "Well, black comedians say things about white people, etc." what you are failing to understand is that these comedians are using these words and terms as part of a comedy act. Even their audiences are often filled with whites who are not offended because they know that's just their comedic styling.
Carlos Mencia, a Mexican American comedian, makes fun of everyone and has referred to blacks as the "n word" and Mexicans as "beaners". The difference here, people, is that he is doing a comedy ACT. I am black and not offended because I know there is a punchline in there and that he's making fun of stereotypes. However, even Richards admitted that he was angry when he used the "n" word and that this was a "rant" and not part of a comedy show.
Does anyone understand the difference?
If Richards was not a racist and simply pissed off at hecklers, how come he didn't call the guy an "asshole", a "dick" or some other equivalent term? How come no one has thought about that? People who aren't racist and don't throw derogatory words around so freely. The "n-wod" flew out of his mouth with no problem. That's what is disturbing about the whole issue.
I think that sites like this and any other sites that prey upon slip ups of people are f***ed up. people screw up every day, just becuase the person is famous, doesnt mean that they cant screw up. i dont think he is racist, and if he is, it isnt like he is going to kill people about it. i dont supoort racism in any way, but the fact that we have to ruin a comedians already poor shape career just to say that we did is sickening.
now a bunch of you will call me a p***y and such and i dont care you godd*mn paparazzi bastards.
This is for #304, you are EXACTLY what I am talking about BLANCO BOY IT IS IGNORANT PEOPLE LIKE YOUR SELVES AND RICHARDS THAT KEEP BLACKS HATING WHITES OR YOUR KIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Britney Spears might miss a lot more 'X Factor' auditions ... because she can! Simon Cowell gave Brit damn near free reign in order to sign the pop star to that $15 million deal -- but is it backfiring? We'll tell you what peeps on the set are saying.Plus, Chris Jericho's…
