Andy Dick

The New 'Kramer'?

12/5/2006 2:29 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

andy_dick_tmz-1Andy Dick hasn't learned anything from the Michael Richards incident.

According to sources, the hopped-up comedian hopped onstage Saturday at L.A.'s Improv comedy club and dropped the n-bomb on a room full of stunned clubgoers.

Andy was heckling comedian Ian Bagg during his routine, when Dick allegedly got out of his seat, jumped onstage and began joking with Bagg. The subject of Michael Richards came up, but the two comics quickly moved past it. As Dick exited the stage, he suddenly grabbed the mic and shouted at the crowd, "You're all a bunch of niggers!"

Prejudiced Celebs: Click to launch galleryThe stunned crowd gasped and stared at each other. Bagg tried to play it cool and move on with his set, but the laughs weren't there.

Calls to Dick's rep were not immediately returned.

UPDATE: TMZ has received a statement from The Improv acknowledging the incident: "The Improv is aware of Andy Dick's behavior on Saturday night. Our policy is that material deemed offensive by both famous and up and coming comedians is judged on a case by case basis. In this particular case, Mr. Dick was commenting on a current event. Was it intelligent? No. Was it funny? No. But was it racist? No. It was not directed at any audience member in particular and although it was in bad taste -- it was a comment on the Michael Richards fiasco."

Andy Dick is a no-talent limelight-grabbing hack. He's not funny. He can't act. His only skill is trying to grab the spotlight, and he doesn't even do that well. It's amazing in this country that losers like Dick continue to inspire discussion on any level. If we ignore him, maybe he'll just go away. Wishful thinking...

The word is wrong, let's get rid of it. Africans did not knowingly sell other Africans into slavery, especially not the type of slavery that exsited here. Let's get rid of the word FUCK.

However do not make light of the N word. I as a 7 year old boy being called the N word in rural South Carolina and having a cross burned on my lawn has made me greatly biased against the word. I cringe at the word despite who says it. No one should say it and the fact that you do use it further demonstrates your ignorance.

And rappers don't rap about raping white women! Whats that all about?

I find the hypocrisy sickening.

It is not the "N word", the word is "n*gger", why can't you say it or type it? Just like you can't type "f***" because it is the "F word". Such prissy pretense smells bad.

Words in themselves have no power and only when people become offended do they inject power into them. I would refer you to the great philosopher George Carlin and his %u201Cseven words%u201D for an education.

If Blacks would just stop being offended all the time and just get on with their lives "n*gger" would eventually lose its power and import, just as "bugger" and "bloody" has in England over the last century or so.

The problem really isn't the so called racists, as much as it is you bunch of over-sensitive, whining, little politically correct f***s who constantly complain about someone hurting your feelings or making hurtful comments about race.
People are never going to live together in peace because no one likes whining a**holes. It's the law of survival, strong live- whiney ass little f***s don't, no matter their race. So f*** you PC f***s and kiss my ass.

Pelt, Is that part about; "Africans did not knowingly sell other Africans into slavery, especially not the type of slavery that exsited here", REALLY TRUE?

http://www.anti-slaverysociety.addr.com/hieroraf.htm

The Society estimates that there are 8,000 girl-slaves %u2014 slaves in the fullest sense of the term %u2014 in West Africa today. These girls are hierodulic slaves, combining the roles of agricultural slave, domestic slave, temple slave and sex slave.

Originally offered as human sacrifice to ensure success in war, these girls are the helpless victims of a traditional form of slavery which has survived intact since the pre-colonial era. These slaves live in villages just a half-day%u2019s journey inland from the very coast from which slaves were once shipped to the Americas

Africans DID knowingly sell other africans into slavery ;

http://www.africaeconomicanalysis.org/articles/gen/slavehtm.html

Most slaves sold by Africans

Estimates of the total human loss to Africa over the four centuries of the transatlantic slave trade range from 30 million to 200 million. At the initial stage of the trade parties of Europeans captured Africans in raids on communities in the coastal areas. But this soon gave way to buying slaves from African rulers and traders. The vast majority of slaves taken out of Africa were sold by African rulers, traders and a military aristocracy who all grew wealthy from the business. Most slaves were acquired through wars or by kidnapping. The Portuguese Duatre Pacheco Pereire wrote in the early sixteenth century after a visit to Benin that the kingdom "is usually at war with its neighbours and takes many captives, whom we buy at twelve or fifteen brass bracelets each, or for copper bracelets, which they prize more." Olaudah Equiano, an ex-slave, described in his memoirs published in 1789 how African rulers carried out raids to capture slaves. "When a trader wants slaves, he applies to a chief for them, and tempts him with his wares. It is not extraordinary, if on this occasion he yields to the temptation with as little firmness, and accepts the price of his fellow creature's liberty with as little reluctance, as the enlightened merchant. Accordingly, he falls upon his neighbours, and a desperate battle ensues...if he prevails, and takes prisoners, he gratifies his avarice by selling them." Equiano was born in 1745 in an area under the kingdom of Benin. At the age of ten he was kidnapped by slave hunters who also took his sister. He was more fortunate than most other slaves. After serving in America, the West Indies and England he was able to save for and buy his freedom in 1756 at the age of twenty-one.

It was meant as a joke making fun of Richards. Everyone does need to get over it. There are stereotypes on every race and too many double standards in this world. It is true if you watch BET you have black comedians like Martin Lawerance and Chris Rock making fun of how white people talk or cant dance and that is funny. But could you imagine if whites had a white entertainment station and we made fun of the way black people talked or danced, we would be racist. The same about ebony and jet or the all black colleges. If we had the same but it was all white stuff it would be considered segregation and racism. People just need to lighten up.

I feel it was a disgrace to use the n word. Even if blacks call each other the name. It is not approbriate coming from a white man who in the beginning used the word to humiliate blacks. Please be mindful when attempted to make racial slurs it can be very hurtful to the group it is intended for.
Wish for love and peace we sure could use it.

Johanna Wright, go to this site and read about the origins of the word.

http://www.answers.com/topic/nigger

In the United States, the word nigger was not originally considered derogatory, but merely denotative of black, as it was in much of the world. In nineteenth-century American literature, there are many uses of the word nigger with no intended negative connotation

There seems to be no end of documented proof about slavery. Heres an interesting one.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_slavery#Slavery_in_Arabia.2C_the_Ottoman_Empire_and_the_Middle_East

The first imported Africans were brought as indentured servants, not slaves. They were required, as white indentured servants were, to serve nine years.

Every interested party should go to this site and read it. It's fascinating.

I am a firm believer that the media, as they work with the government, do very well with keeping racial tensions in the spotlight. If you start paying attention to the news, they are constantly reporting racial tensions are on the rise over and over again. I believe that the purpose is to keep the american people seperated so we don't think about the scamming that is going on in the government. United we stand, divided we fall! And we all fall for it.

I don't understand why blacks are so hung up on the N- word. We cater too much to the black community. We tip toe around trying not to offend . They change what they call themselves: Negroes, Afro Americans, Black, African Americans. They have there own awards shows and networks and they still complain. I think ( pick your name) should be proud of their race and quit feeling inferior about it. So as I white man I cant' jump, dance and not hung like an elephant...who cares?? I like white!!

Andy Dick is a dickhead. This is not his first stupidity. Ever notice that his face is becoming more and more like his name?

It's always a sign of how pathetic a "celebrity" is when they have to jump on a bandwagon three weeks after the original incident. Andy Dick has never been funny ,has no talent ,but somehow got lucky enough not to have to work as a temp or a waiter at TGIFridays. His level of talent showed when he thought it was funny to go around licking people at the William Shatner roast. Not funny, just gross like him.
