Anna's Doc Scrutinized by CA Med Board

Dr. Sandeep Kapoor is the subject of an inquiry by the Medical Board of California, which wants to know more about physician misconduct allegations in the treatment of the late Anna Nicole Smith.

Spokesperson Candis Cohen says that the board is looking into "possible misconduct" by Dr. Kapoor, after TMZ reported his prescribing of methadone to an alias used by Anna Nicole. Cohen added that the board was looking into the legality of prescribing drugs to someone who is using an alias.

5. It is NOT just that he prescribed the Methadone for a pregnant woman. The AMOUNT he prescribed is what would be authorized for a clinic or hospital and would NEVER be legal to prescribe for an individual under ANY circumstances.

15. What I want to know is how is this stuff just handed out to the media? Isn't this info in violation of HIPPA laws? I think a law is being broken by releasing this medical info. Heck, I tried to get an annual print out of my families perscription expenses for last year, and I couldn't get my husbands without written permission, because of the HIPPA laws.
