Burke & Charvet, Saving the World One Burger at a Time

Brooke Burke and David Charvet bought a boxful of burgers and fries and distributed them to the homeless in glamorous Santa Monica this weekend.

The new parents were spotted with a boxful from Burger King, where they ordered forty burgers and fries from a drive-thru and proceeded to distribute them on foot to the seaside city's less fortunate.

Santa Monica, home to celebrities, is also home to approximately 2,000 homeless persons.

If they really cared they would have given them nutritious food instead of BK garbage. Didn't they see Supersize Me???

Wake up, people. The homeless want your home. Celebs "act" like they "care" about others, but all they care about is themselves. The rest of us are the same way too. The homeless are homeless because they're lazy and stupid; mostly lazy. Every bum in Santa Monica and everywhere else could find a job in 5 minutes if they really wanted to. Deep down, they don't want to work, and so they don't. Santa Monica has no fewer than 8 homeless shelters. Why would a bum want to work, as long as he or she can depend on ignorant do-gooders like the citizens and politicians of Santa Monica and other cities where bums are lionized?

Self-serving idiots! They are NOT helping the homeless by feeding them directly. This just adds to the burden the shelters face in getting homeless persons to use the facitlies that taxpayers are funding. I live here - I walk this area several times a week. DON"T HAND OUT FOOD OR MONEY!

Ignore these ignorant-asses. I think its about time someone does something for people over here.

Most homeless people are addicted to drugs and alcohol, and no most people would not hire them. Its good to see some people have compassion.

Good thing to do. Most of us dont do shit.

I think it's great that they are handing out food. Now, if everybody would go work 1 day a month in a homeless shelter, your life would be blessed for evermore. You may be down to your last dollar, but having a home will make you realize you have it all. Try working the homeless shelter, it's a very humbling experience.

God, enough with the bitter, snide remarks! Whatever their intention, it was a thoughtful and selfless act. Saying hateful things doesn't make you smart, clever or witty.

Why didn't the two rent buses and shuttle the homeless back to their place so they could get a warm shower and clean up ???
