Governator Has Plans for Paris??!!!

A petition is circulating that begs California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon Paris Hilton.
Paris and Arnold
TMZ placed several calls this morning to the Guv's office. The first person we spoke with said there were "rumblings" about the petition in the office, but he wouldn't be more specific.

We then spoke with someone else who said she'd get back to us. We then asked if that meant the Governor had Paris plans. She giggled and said, "maybe."

We love Kalieforneeya!!!

BUT WAIT! Just as we were about to publish the article (finger literally on the button), TMZ got a callback from the Guv's Press Secretary, Aaron McLear, who said that Arnold's office is prepared to give Hilton a fair shake! McLear told TMZ the office is prepared to treat Hilton's request "no differently than any other request filed to the Governor's office." McLear added the Governor only acts in "extraordinary circumstances." We asked if Paris qualified -- all we got was a laugh.

So far, they haven't received the petition, asking people to "sihn" (sic) in support of Paris.

While word of Paris' pardon has made its way throughout cyberspace and all over mainstream news, McLear said that he's not sure if Schwarzenegger himself is aware of Paris' plight, but he did admit that Arnold's "staff members certainly are."

To:
The Honorable Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger & the California Court of Appeals

In response to the online petition titled "Free Paris," this petition has been started to request that you do the opposite, that you hold Ms. Hilton accountable for her illegal actions and that you require her to fulfill her obligation to society by making her serve her time.

After reading the aforementioned petition I have to point out that the author makes no logical points in Ms. Hilton's favor.

Her status in American culture is irrelevant as Ms. Hilton does nothing of substance to give back to any community. She is not, nor should she ever be considered a role model. And her "celebrity" does not make her immune to the laws of this country. She is required, as we all are, to live lawfully.

The references to other celebrities and their legal matters are also irrelevant. His own statement:

"Nick Nolte, Mel Gibson, Tracy Morgan, Wynonna Judd, to name a few, were arrested and never did a day in jail after their initial arrests for drunk driving /DUI /DWI charges."

is completely accurate however he has forgotten that Ms. Hilton's original DUI charge did not result in any jail time for her. She was shown leniency and was only required to not violate the law for the term of her probation.

She did not do this, she violated the terms of her probation not once but several times. She blatantly disregarded the terms that were clearly outlined for her by the court, the office of probation, and the police who stopped, cited, and made her sign a document acknowledging that she was not allowed to drive. And even after signing said document, she violated her probation again, resulting in her hearing and her sentence of 45 days. She also neglected, or chose not to enroll in the alcohol program that was also ordered by the judge. Which is yet another violation of her probation.

With all of the above facts presented in court, I find it laughable that Ms. Hilton and her "people" are outraged and feel this sentence is unfair. I would like to know how they feel a person who blithly and continually breaks the law, a person who makes a mockery of our legal system by ignoring court orders should be dealt with.

Personally, I don't think 45 days is enough. No one should be allowed to disobey the orders of the court and no one is above the rulings of any judge. Ms. Hilton's actions prove that she does not feel she is required to follow the law and that she does not have to be accountable when she commits illegal acts. This makes her a criminal and as such, she belongs in jail.

The undersigned, myself included, request that you uphold Judge Sauer's sentence in the fairness of justice and that you not show Ms. Hilton any favortism by pardoning her sentence.

Please show our citizens that our legal system cannot be swayed by money or fame and that we should all be viewed and treated the same when we enter any court of law.

Thank you,
Ms. Fraxie Apis

19. I could see giving Paris a lighter sentence if she hadn't so ballantly broken the law not, but twice since she originally got in trouble. And, that doesn't count the number of times she's been out & about driving without getting pulled over. You just don't continue to flaunt taking the law so lightly when you know you're prime target for the media. If any "Joe Blow" off the street had done this, do you think we'd have a month to turn ourselves in? Heck NO, we would have been hauled off to the slammer right then & there. Paris, you need to own up to your faults & do the time as it has been imposed. Us normal folks wouldn't have had a choice in the matter.

23. This is going to turn all political now. Rick and Kathy will tell Schwartznegger they'll basically buy his next election term if he lets their daughter off. This is going to be all about money. Trust me - the Governor will seriously and legitimately look into what he can do for her to get some of her parents' money. And then ALL HELL is going to break loose.

There's way too much money in California. And the Governator is seeing $$$ signs (or 'sihns,' as Paris would have written)

24. it would be a political CRIME if arnold acted on this pardon. arnold, give the judge a vote of confidence by denying this--he is well within his rights to impose this sentence, and, in fact, he could have given the spoiled princess 90 days!

27. I can't believe he is wasteing his time and tax payer money on her. Hope he's not up for re-election. Is he not aware of the fact she not only thumbed her nose at the law but has not taken the requied classes she was to take as a part of her probation.

28. All I have to say is that if she is allowed to bypass her jail sentence, it is going to send a completely mixed sentence to all of her teenie bopper fans. It's okay kids, you can drive and drive and there will be no consequences. What a great role model she is! (insert eye roll)

29. Paris Hilton is a joke in more ways than one and she's doing nothing but proving this fact again!! She deserved jail time and hopefully that will knock her down a couple pegs...

30. Paris acts like she's on death row with 30 minutes to live so she's
asking the governor to pardon her? WTF? Is she that stupid?
Yeah, she probably is. What a joke her and her whole family are.
Just because they have money, they think they're better than everyone
else and above the law. Screw all of them. Paris will look great in an orange jumpsuit!!!!
