Could Paris Only Do Half The Time?

Paris HiltonTMZ has learned that despite published reports, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will not know the length of Paris' time behind bars until the day the socialite reports to County Jail.

A report today in the Los Angeles Times indicates Ms. Hilton might spend just three weeks behind bars, representing just half of her original sentence of 45 days.

Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore tells TMZ, "At this point, we will not know exactly how much time she will do until the day she is booked."

As TMZ first reported, sources connected to the judge who sentenced her tell us that the heiress' only saving grace is a program called "Good Time, Work Time" designed to cut down sentences as a result of good behavior. The formula, considering Paris is allegedly a good girl, will calculate to 39 days ... unless there's some change at Hilton's check-in time.

Here's a novel idea. If the jail is overcrowed let some one else who has less than 45 days remaining go free and put "poor-poor" Paris in thier place. Even if she has to go in the general population.

The Associated Press is writing that she may only do 10% of her sentance. MSNBC this morning had a report that she might be able to pay a 7 figure fine instead of jail time. We'll just have to wait and see.

Paris is an example to all people who are very priviliged. Of course people hate her because she is not only beautiful but also very rich. Nothing like the combination of beauty and money to make bitter people jealous. On the other hand, Paris is to blame because she let the party lifestyle go too far. Another reason people hate her: while they slave away in their jobs, they see her partying every night and having a dream lifestyle. If she had done something good for humanity, using her fame and money to some important causes, people would be more tolerant of her. Her publicist and parents failed badly at that. her image as a vapid empty headed selfish and mean socialite was too strong. People did not see any humanity in her. I would fire her PR. Bad job. People hate her, even if she is a really a nice girl "deep down".

Ya know....being a "role model" a bitch. It least she's getting it. I served 90 days on a first DUI due to probation violation....the judge wanted to make an example of the nice, blond, little country club girl. But the reality is if your used to manipulating the system and appearing to be a rather helpless to good for jail white kid an experience lkie this changes you it gives you a true understanding of bounderies and new repect for consequences.

I'm sure that she's gotten a good dose of reality. Little Miss "Above the law coz I'm rich and daddy owns Hilton hotels" will most likely smarten up just a bit when it comes to the law. Maybe she'll even realize that her irresponsible public acts make really bad impressions on the boys and girls that admire her. She can do so much more by appearing responsible and doing good things. I'm not rich or famous, but if I were given her fame and fortune I'd strive to be a good role model. But I wasn't fortunate to be born in to that privilege, but she has and I really wish she would take advantage of that and do something good for the world for once. It won't start until she grows up.
