Candy to Paris -- Spoiled Brat, Grow Up!

5/13/2007 9:32 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Candy Spelling (Tori's mom) sent TMZ an open letter to Paris Hilton. Yes, it really is Candy!

Dear Paris,

As someone who has known you for most of your life, I pay special attention to your press coverage. (Apparently, I'm not alone, based on the responses every word about you creates on and elsewhere.)

Paris, I'm very worried about you. The last week has not only been an obvious roller-coaster for you emotionally, but your strategy went from blaming employees and stating silly excuses like, "I don't read," to your new lawyer's tactic to have you sound mature and take some responsibility. In between, the paparazzi continue to follow you shopping and taking self-defense classes (to protect yourself in jail?), and some over-zealous friends staged embarrassing protests (three people?), and wasted taxpayer funds with a petition to pardon you.

People who are rich and famous are not treated like "regular" people, even though you claim to now be just like everyone else. In most situations, your privileged life works to your benefit. You have opportunities, access and resources like few others; and frankly, you can get away with more bad behavior and excuses than most people could even imagine. However, as the real possibility of jail approaches -- whether it's 21 days or 45 or whatever the latest report is -- it's time to get real. It's time to find "a Paris" somewhere between "heiress" and a character on "The Simple Life." I know she's there, and I know she can be a good citizen and maturely face consequences other people would have to face under the same circumstances.

I am sorry you have been sentenced to jail. I can't think of too much that would be worse. But since you let this happen, use the next couple of weeks preparing not only by publicly learning to fight (not a good message to fellow inmates), but by looking around, realizing that you are not as truly entitled as your money implies. You are a young woman who can add more to her community than establishing new definitions for infamy.

Candy Spelling

I just wish that for once, Paris would stop acting like the spoiled little rich brat that she is and accept the consequences for her actions. GET OVER IT ! I might also add that it would be refreshing to see her mother act like a responsible parent for a change.

What do Candi's kids do to make this world a better place? What about the family Tori tore apart? No mention of that. If Paris does not mend her ways she will be in jail again along with Lohan. At least Paris has daddy's money to keep getting her out of scrapes. It is Paris' mother who needs counselling. We have to stop idolizing these people and let Paris actually do something to earn all this attention. What is she famous for besides being famous?

CANDY'S ADVICE IS ...RIGHT ON......Some of these starlets & wanna--bees Paris/Lindsey
Nicole etc....should look upon Angelina Joli as a role model.....she is more beautiful...talented....than all of them put together.....she has a legitimate reason to have an overblown ego....and yet she does not ....she continues to grow in every area of her life in every way to others........she is what we should want our daughters to be....
these others (Paris/Nicole etc.) seem to be confused about wether to mimic a porn queen or a drag queen......let them get real........real women like Jolie are RARE these days....

I have to wonder exactly what the intent of the note from Tori Spelling's mother was.. I mean, honestly, is she bored? Is she not getting enough press these days? Why in the world would she go to TMZ with a letter like that unless she was a publicity freak like the rest of them? They all need to get a life and realize that while the general public is drawn to their antics like a moth to a flame, it's not because we admire them.. it's because we're always drawn to a train wreck.. Hollywood, just a note!! We're laughing AT you, not WITH you..

Jesus Christ

Why are you people even giving a damn about this uppity, spoiled, not very good looking, terrible porn acting, bitch? I must be very naive, as I don't see what she has to offer. What exactly are her talents? Being rich is the only one I can think of.

I hope I never see her on the street in Colorado. Might have to tell her what I think of her. She is a waste of skin.

Rather not a letter from Candy Spelling. Why would anyone care about her opinions anyway? Why would she even write a letter? Big joke on everyone. I hope Paris makes it through jail and from now on forward respects and honors the law. However, Paris is a beautiful rich young woman, and she is in the spring of her life- let her dance.

I love this-Thank you "whoever". I am a mother of 4 ranging from 1.5 years to 21 years. Started off scraping the barrel and now living the good life.
I am strict with the older two. Bottom line. There is a difference between acting crazy and being reckless. These stars, Paris, Lindsey, Britney, Mishca - are all reckless!!!
They are drug addicts, permiscious with no bounderies, virtues or self character, self pride. They resort to pornography as tactics to promote their image and the media is there helping them sell it. They are media prostitute and the media is the pimp-pushing them out to selling them off for a pic. AND these pitiful girls are all gullable.
The downside is that, there are "young girls following these girls as role models" which is scary.
What would we be speaking about in the event there were casualties- keep in mind- Paris was stopped 3 times............I wish the inmate population had access to is only fair.
Basically she is being grounded and sent up to her room - a punishment her parents should have given her along time ago.
What would happen we we did not hear about or read about PARIS, LINDSEY, BRITNEY, MISHCA for 30 days........................

Yes-lets support these media whores, lets continue to encourage them and be supportive of them, their behavior's. Let us glorify them. What would you do if this was your daugher?
Again, what you you do if there were casualties in all three of Paris's incidents? What if the DUI impacted your child and Paris was at the other end of the wheel?
What can we expect when she comes out? More media prostitution. Yes, let us glorify them and support them.

"A word to PARIS---Just ride the night with a police officer, fireman or paramedic and see the anguish on the faces of the victims of drunk driving/reckless driving as you are trying to keep them alive but knowing in your heart that they will probably not make the ride to the hospital."....

whoever wrote that....i couldn't agree w/u're post any more!! She should've gotten some kind of punishment like that. It would've maybe shown her what her drinking and driving and all that excessive partying can and will do to folks.

The Twin Towers professional staff has positively diagnosed Paris Hilton’s condition.

Miss Hilton has been confirmed to be suffering from an advanced case of HUTAS (Head Up The Ass Syndrome). Hilton exhibits acute symptoms related to a patient with their head clearly up their ass. It is known that if HUTAS isn’t diagnosed and treated in its early stages, the condition suffocates the brain and leads to irreversible systemic damage. Symptoms are characterized by a lack of intelligence, muffled hysteria and blind arrogance which enlarges the head making it more difficult to cure the disease.

Treatment for HUTAS includes applying repeated and sufficient force to each side of the buttocks with one’s foot. Having the patient walking or running while their buttocks is booted builds psychological remedy for the patient and satisfaction for the treatment specialist. Most professionals agree that in Miss Hilton’s case, several hundred treatment sessions will be required to obtain full remission. Due to the expected long and arduous recovery period, it is recommended that the public at large be recruited to administer treatments.

I see very little accomplishment in sending Paris to jail. I think that she deserves consequences for her actions but on a different level. The judges in this country need to get creative in some of their sentencing. I would have sentenced her to help the less fortunate, teach school age children the perils of drinking & driving , picking up body parts of people that were killed by a drunk driver or anything more creative than sitting in a jail cell. She is probably doing her nails everyday, catching up on her reading and a million other chores she doesn't get done with her busy party schedule. Judges---Go back to the days where the punishment FIT the crime. A word to PARIS---Just ride the night with a police officer, fireman or paramedic and see the anguish on the faces of the victims of drunk driving/reckless driving as you are trying to keep them alive but knowing in your heart that they will probably not make the ride to the hospital.

C'mon Candy! Is the place to be posting such "advice"? As much as it hurts, we all need to look at ourselves and ask those most delicate and personal questions.

And as you know (I hope, with fingers crossed) it is through this very private introspective reflection when we can, and most often do, learn.

I have no idea whether you know Paris Hilton or not. If you have known her for most of her life, then you—far more than anyone—should know that friends, family, or others do not take a personal matter public, any more than one would want to deliberately hurt someone else.

I am hard pressed to see the distinction between what you have done and what the paparazzi do, albeit, they get paid; nonetheless, both of you have violated rule number one.

I cannot, nor would I ever condone what Paris Hilton has done. Moreover, when one considers her behavior over the last few years, one wonders if there is any semblance of adult influence any where in her life. Yet, that is not for me to take public any more than the relationship you have with Tori or how things were between you and Aaron.

Come down off your throne girl…time to start acting like an adult.

Get a Blog…go to or Google blog you'll be up and running within minutes. Then you can feel free (as if you already don't!) to write anything you wish and let it go by the wayside with the "public person" rule of law. (By the way…how much did you get from
