Celebrity Justice
No Cell Mate for Paris

Paris Hilton has her jail cell all to herself ... for now.

After turning herself over to the authorities late Sunday night, Ms. Hilton is finally behind bars at a county jail in Lynwood. Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says the heiress has been "cooperative and calm" since her arrival. Whitmore says Hilton has been booked and fingerprinted, and will be spending the rest of the night in a cell by herself.

The spokesman added, "She'll be fine ... if she follows the rules."

2. I recently saw Nathan Lane and Tripp Cullman having an animated oral exchange in the back seat of a cab over Paris' incarceration. Perhaps a new musical is in the works -- an "American Evita"-style production starring a newly socially conscious Paris Hilton. Such a good opportunity for her to reinvent herself, she had pretty much mined every vein of her old self and no doubt realizes that the public needs something new from her.

3. In the old days, Nathan Lane and Tripp Cullman would have been arrested for "buggery"...

4. finally the spoiled little girl will receive a SMALL amount of punishment for drinking and driving. if this happened to a non celebrity we would be in prison, not even jail. and money doesn't buy what OJ? this is an outrage...she DESERVES so much MORE JAIL TIME!

6. The public persona maybe all bravado bs for the camera, but from the looks of the SUV pics, she is as scared as is normal for any inmate. Good, then indications are she will need to follow rules. Thats a new one!

8. He look nervous and he should. One mistake - just for second - and if she gets hurt or hurt herself by accident, the city would have to pay up like never before.

Some people are going to sleep much worse than Miss Hilton for the next 23 days.

9. Broom handles are about 4ft. long. No cell mate required. She'll get her abuse via long distance......I hope!

10. I think it is a shame that they are letting her stay in her own cell. She has to go to jail like everyone else would, she should have equal treatment all the way around - like any of us would.

11. Paris should NOT even be there! They are simply making a statement. People drive with suspended licenses all the time and never get serious jail time.
This is all a shame that she has to go through ANY TIME AT ALL! Although with how crammed this jail is she will hopefully get out early due to over crowding if they decide to ever be fair to her.

12. She talks like she will be doing hard time, serving a long sentence. She will be hitting the club/drug/sex/boos scene before the end of the month. That's HOT !

13. It is disgusting: She should not get any special treament at all. What a joke: that is not like going to a real prison at all.

14. She is a spoiled brat! What a joke. Why doesn't she go do some good like Angelina Jolie?
She should make better use of her so called fame and money by doing some good in the world.

15. You know Paris is not even cute. She wastes all her time just partying. What job does she have? What good does she do on the world with all her money??? She certainly should not get any special treatment: that defeats the entire purpose of her jail sentence! It is a disgrace of the so called justice system.
