An Open Letter from a Paris BFF

6/9/2007 12:06 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Paris Hilton, Frankie Muniz, Jennifer RoveroThe following is a letter from one of Paris Hilton's best friends:

I would like to address the media regarding one of my dearest friends, Paris Hilton. I have been by her side up until she turned herself over to authorities and the last 24 hours since being put on probation. I was also
in the courtroom [yesterday] and saw a judge hand down a sentence that NO ONE in an even remotely similar position would receive!

Sheriff Baca is coming from a place of knowledge with regard to his prisons and his prisoners well-being. We should trust in him. He is a stand up man who was voted into office. He was not being generous. He was being practical and just, and speaking from years of experience on the front lines of L.A. justice. It's clear as day that her stay has impacted her greatly.

She is a forever changed woman.

The MTV Movie Awards was merely a diversion to be able to surrender in privacy and not stir up any commotion. PERIOD. Jail was on her mind, NOT a celebration!

Also, I would like to set the record straight that there was no party in motion for this weekend. When she was released she was still very upset, to the point of being physically ill -- and partying was the furthest thing from her mind. She is a loving and sweet soul with a big heart whose character has been misjudged because she was born into a family of wealth and, yes privilege. Now, I ask you to please stop for a moment and try to analyze why it is that you are so troubled by her?

Paris HiltonSurely there is a more just way that she can atone for what she has done and not for who she is.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Rovero

Ivanka Trump was also born into a life of wealth and privilege. She, however, is intelligent, well-educated, and actually doing something with her life. Look at people like Aerin and Jane Lauder, etc., to see how those of true breeding are conducting their lives.

How is it that true socialites do not want their names uttered in the same BREATH as Paris'? They are the true heiresses, the ones who deserve that title--and they are the ones that people are jealous of, NOT PARIS.

Paris asked for the public's hatred by being who she is, doing anything she can to hog the spotlight. She's now getting exactly what she and her parents have courted all along: the nation's attention.

Um.... wasn't Paris spewing racial slurs and putting the general public at risk with her drunk driving? Some loving soul.

And as far as priviledge, so are Warren Buffett's kids, but big deal. Do you ever even HEAR about them getting into trouble?

Give me a break. I actually liked her before this mess, but this is of her own doing.

If the Hilton's were really concerned about out justice system, they would be concerned about the people each year that are exonerated because of DNA evidence.

She got what she deserved. Anyone else would have gotten worse! Just because she is rich shouldnt make a difference. Break the law, pay the price...simple as that! Your friend needs to grow a brain. She broke the law...and to say that this punishement is harsh is laughable. There are people out there who have done nothing worse than exactly what she has done. I know one personally who did 6 months in jail...his first DUI offence ever, then he gets pulled over for speeding, they charged him driving on a suspended license. And he wasnt out for an afternoons shopping...it happened while taking his GF to the hospital to give birth to their baby. You'd think this would get him some leeway on a first offence...Nope! He spent the first 6 months of his daughters life in jail! For a first time offence. Of course that was Florida...not the laidback home of the braindead wealthy!

He also didnt have the money to pay a highpowered lawyer to get him out of it all. Paris does! It just goes to prove the old addage "You get only as much justice as you can afford!"

Tell your friend to grow a brain and a backbone. Maybe when she realizes her actions have consiquences will she wake up and maybe start trying to be a human being instead of a plastic excuse for a person.

OH, PLEEEEASE. Maybe if she wasn't so blatantly arrogant about everything, people would care. Maybe if she didn't go around in public making fun of other celebs or those less fortunate [or supported those who do], people would have sympathy. Maybe if she took responsibility for the things she does, instead of blaming everyone else, people would respect her. It's people like you, so called friends and fans, that enable her and in the end, help her look stupid. She needs to accept her Karma and grow up and behave like an adult.

Yes, my best friend was one of the greatest girls that ever lived too, Honey, but she was also a drug addict!

The judge did Paris Hilton the greatest thing anyone ever did for her, yourself included.

If she will get off drugs she might turn into a worthwhile human being.

And the reason the book was thrown at Paris is because she set herself up as a role model for young girls.

If you want the regular time do not set yourself up as a role model! It's very simple, Honey.

The judge was right.in doing what he did any one of us would have been sent to jail if we had done what she had done.
It was the media that causes all the problem. They are out of control in this country. and because of them I can't help but feel sorry for her.

I actually like Paris. I think she's cute, funny and yes oblivious to the rest of the world. When watching the Simple Life, I will never forget a statement she made regarding Wal-Mart. "What's Wal-Mart? Do they sell walls?" Anyone that out of touch with the real world should take the steps necessary to see what life is like for the rest of the world. As for her sentence, I agree it is likely more time than another person may have received. However, I can't be sure because I don't know all of the circumstances regarding her situation. The one reason I see for her receiving a harsher sentence is her blatent disregard for the law on the two subsiquent traffic stops. I don't believe it's just a matter of finally punishing a rich person, it's that she truly showed that she does believe herself to be above the law. It was her responsibility to know what the status of her license was, not her "people's." The excuses she has given for what she did are unacceptable and she is deserving of the punishment she has received. If you disagree, then you must agree that every single other person in jail deserves to be released to home monitoring if they're feeling depressed too. I guess that would solve the over crowding situation!

I'm supposed to feel sorry for someone who has complete disregard for the law? Yeah right! The law was enforced, maybe a little more harsh than normal but again Paris is anything but normal right? She thought she was better than the law and was proven wrong and now she can't deal with it. To freakin bad. If it was me no one would care and my hairy butt would still be in jail. So miss Paris's friend go mooch off someone else for another month.

It is absolute BS that she is in the spotlight on an unfair basis (being born into a wealthy family), in the US alone there are tons of young people with the same (or more priviledged back ground) who are never in the tabloids no matter what they are up to..
Ms Hilton has craved media attention like a child craving its mothers love and the next time we see her showing her crotch or smiling on a red carpet she has proven that this is the truth. I feel no pity for her, she is a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum and I do agree that she is suffering from mental issues but I belive it is that of narcissism. In combination with an extremely low IQ this is hazzardous to the public and she should not be let out until she has been heavily medicated or has matured atleast to the level of a ten year old.

Let me set this straight. There should be no confusion why there are so many haters out there.

PEOPLE ARE JEALOUS.

Simple as that. She has the most beautiful face on television. Her sweet loving personality is captivating above and beyond any other forms of entertainment. Every news station in American finds every way they can to talk about Paris, JUST SO THEY CAN PUT HER FACE ON TV. Trust me, every minute they can stretch out a story about Paris, the more money they get for running a video clip or showing a picture of Paris' beautiful face.

And who on earth would not stop surfing through the TV channels when they see a picture of Paris. And that's the goal of these money hungry companies, they put Paris on the cover of her magazine and use up an entire broadcast devoted to Paris Hilton.

Whether it's a guilty pleasure or a jealous obsession, too many people are lying about their feelings for Paris. Just admit it people, you love her.

If you didn't love her, you'd change the channel or you wouldn't even be on this website.

And to Paris and her friends: The good honest people in the world understand that she made a remorseful mistake, and she's not a bad person. God has gifted her with beauty, love, and joy. Don't let the haters take that away. Just learn from your mistakes like everyone else in life and continue smiling. We love you Paris :)

This is letter uses such circuitous logic, and it's claims are paper thin. Where did this chick learn to write arguments?
