WWE: Bibles Prove Benoit Killings Were Not "Roid Rage"

6/26/2007 7:05 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The WWE is firing back at claims that the murders/suicide by former wrestling champion Chris Benoit were the result of "roid rage."

After local authorities revealed that steroids were found at the chilling murder scene, several media outlets claimed that a violent reaction caused by use of the supplements may have contributed Benoit's murderous behavior. The WWE claims that assumption is pure bulls**t, although they name no criminal, psychopharmaceutical or hormone expert as the source of their claims.

In a statement released to TMZ, WWE reps claim that the proof is in the Bibles left at the feet of Benoit's two victims. "The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage."

The WWE also claims that Benoit tested negative for steroids in the company's independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007.

Typical... WWE puts out a statement about steroid use saying that it did not play a part in the murders, but does it really matter? The wife and son are still dead whether he was on 'roids or not.

Like 'roids don't make a person paranoid and delusional.

WWE: Can the crap, own up to the drug abuse, and fix the situation. Good people have died here -- don't whitewash the truth just to save your ass.

Finally! Thank you, WWE! If it had been roid rage, he would have torn up the house. A lot of people don't realize that the WWE does have a drug screening program in use and they do act upon positive results. Perfect example of that is Jeff Hardy. He failed drug tests which lead to him being fined and then ultimately being released by the WWE for his marijuana use. Just because a guy has huge muscles doesn't mean that he takes steriods. A lot of these guys started weight lifting years before becoming professional wrestlers. Most of them started weight lifting in high school. That doesn't mean that no wrestler in the history of prowrestling has taken steriods. Obviously there have been many who have. And those of you who are going to whine about WWE "defending" Chris, reread their statement. They do not defend him, they simpley state the fact that the authorities have said that they don't believe it was a case of roid rage because of the lack of violence against the victims and in the house. Granted, what Chris did was violent and sick. I was a long time fan of Benoit's. I was shocked when I heard that he had been murdered because at first it was reported that it was being investigated as a homicide. After learning the details, I find myself struggling to reconcile what I thought he was with what he turned out to be. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and co-workers but mostly to his remaining children. I cannot imagine what they are going through in the wake of this tragedy.

Okay just because he tested negatie for steroids on april 10 doesn't mean he wasn't taking them. And steroids are known to change a person's mood dramatically making them not right in the head.

He could have put the bibles there after he broke out of his rage. And the fact that he let his boy live for that long could have been because she said she wanted to leave him and take the kid with him. He pushed her, she hit her head, then strangled her. Coming out of the red he relized he just killed his wife. Not knowing what to do, and not wanting to leave his son without a mother, he made sure to smother him at night so he wouldn't feel pain (not saying he was smart), which accounts for the delay in time. After that he took the bibles from thier place, put them at their feet and proceded to take himself out of the game. It's a crime of passion.

Somethings fishy about ALL of this, EVERYONE who knew Chris say this is not only a surprise but IT WOULDN'T have happen, Jake Roberts said that if God himself said Chris did those things he would call him a liar because i knew Chris that well.
Chris seemed paranoid? ok you can make up anything to justify that but the fact is if someone was looking to "get him" to extort money etc, it would make sense he would be paranoid and not share this information with the guy driving the limo who he would tell too take another rout.
They said he killed them yet stayed in the house for all that time? ever thought maybe people were were there prolonging it all for some reason (extorting money etc)
Fact is there are SOO many strange things about all of this, too think they all were murdered is NOT a far fetched thing to think in fact it makes the most sense, if you were gonna murder someone, you wouldn't always want it to look like a murder!
