Gummi Gets Some Rehab

7/23/2007 8:55 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Gummi ExclusiveUPDATE: A source tells us that Gummi will be receiving outpatient detox treatment with daily counseling, but will not be living in a facility.

TMZ has learned that Jason "Gummi Bear" Davis has entered an outpatient treatment program at Promises rehab.

After a spectacular series of appearances on TMZ, and bouncing around the club scene for many months, the portly oil heir and brother of Greasy has apparently decided to get clean -- with professional help this time. Earlier this month, Gummi reported that he's working on a number of projects, but wasn't very specific.

Promises has been the site of various celeb rehabs of late, including Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, among others.

You can't keep a good bear down! Go Gummi!

A rep for Gummi could not be reached for comment. When asked if Davis had, in fact, checked in, a rep for Promises told us they could neither confirm nor deny that information.

Well, you can afford the best, Gummi, but the only person who can make it work and make it STICK is you! Good luck!

Let's be realistic, who really cares about this fatass nobody? He seeks attention and you folks give it to him. Let's move on to someone who really matters.

Why are all these celebs going to Promises? Their success rate sucks . . . I'd go to Passages instead. But it is not quite the frat party that Promises seems to be.

I'm thinking about checking in to Promises Rehab myself. Seems it's the thing to do nowadays! Wonder if Perez would sponsor me.

This is the new face of celebrity in 2007. How about finding some interesting people instead of this fat bafoon? Just go to your local all you can eat buffet and you can find a zillion of theses goobs. Actually ... thats an insult to the bowling alley patrons. You need to revamp your site TMZ.

All it takes is money that someone else earned and acting like a pig in public -- and WHAMMO -- you're a celeb!

Obviously,TMZ once again gets all their facts wrong. Jason Davis is not in rehab or a treatment program at Promises or anywhere else and has never been.Malicious lies only make every story you ever print seem totally bogus.Too bad facts dont seem to count in your low class brand of so called journalism. Many of us saw Jason today working hard and its pathetic that you should try to create fake stories on another slow news day in your seedy business.

Mikey Fan

You guys really blew this one. I happened to be with Jason today and I can tell you with absolute certainty that he was not checking in to any rehab center, He was sober and
handling his business. When you print these false, untrue, malicious and libelous
stories it shows us all what bad journalism is. I'm all for freedom of speech but
don't print blatant lies. I know Jason, He's a good guy with a big heart that's helped a
lot of people and it's not fair to him or his family. Get your facts straight!

It's not a bad thing to check into a rehab Mikey Fan, On the other hand you must realize not all of us on here believe everything we read either.
I'm sure your friend is a nice person, I really have not heard other wise.. Glad he is sober though, Good thing to be.
