'Big Brother' Shiksa

Shiksa Learns

Jews Have Jewish Names

8/8/2007 12:59 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Click to play!Relations between Israel and the "Big Brother" house are strained today, after a somewhat anti-Semitic rant from crybaby housemate Amber hit the Internet this week. Oy vey!

Where to begin, already? First of all, Amber said the majority of Jews she knows are "selfish." She then went on to say that her mom and sister explained to her that one can tell who is Jewish based on "their last name" and "by their nose." Gevalt! Amber then proceeded to tell a story about a selfish waitress she worked with who turned out to be ... wait for it ... Jewish! Didn't see that one coming! A shonda!

Jameka, who was on the receiving end of Amber's deep thoughts, reminded Amber that she shouldn't make blanket statements like that. "Yeah, you're right," Amber replied. "There is so much to think about." Most of which, it would seem, Amber has avoided thus far. Shmendrik.

William S. Paley, Ukrainian Jew, was largely responsible for the rise of the CBS network.

UPDATE: Abraham Foxman, National Director of the
Anti-Defamation League tells TMZ: "It's offensive. It's part of the unintended consequences of the communications revolution. Anybody can say what they do - but reality shows are now giving license to these expressions of anti-Semitism. Now, all of a sudden, the world is privy to their bigotry and it's on national television... then enhanced on YouTube. What they've done is distributed anti-Semitism -- which started as a private conversation -- and by putting it on a reality TV show broadcast it to the world at large. I want CBS to understand they are facilitating anti-Semitism. They should act responsibly to the community; they are legitimizing bigoted conversation."

UPDATE: CBS has issued the following statement:
"BIG BROTHER is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 - and seeing every moment of their lives. At times, the Houseguests reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone. We certainly find the statements made by Amber Siyavus on the live Internet feed to be offensive and they will not be part of any future broadcast on the CBS Television Network.

Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a Houseguest appearing on BIG BROTHER 8, either on any live feed from the House or the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the program."

Well I am jewish and my husband served . So did his father and brother...
I am not sure why it even matters that he is Jewish. I am proud that he served.

What bothers me is that there is still racism toward anyone - it is pathetic that someone could make some comments. Does it really matter what race or religion you are?

White people are always put down on t.v. - you get used to it! Freedom of speech applies to everyone Mr Jewish guy, even ignorant freaks. Who is even watching that show anyway - not anyone that's making a difference in the world so don't worry about it.

Why didn't Abraham come out and speak against CBS ,Tmz, Cnn and all the other news outlets when Michael Richards said such offensive things about Black people. He wants censorship now when it's against Jews, but when other people are publicly assailed, he's silent. The Anti-defamation League applies a double standard!

What is the difference between the bigotry expressed on TMZ and Big Brother? Is it not all the same? What goes around comes back around. Spreading bigotry, racism, and hatred should be CHECKED in all forms of communication. TMZ is world-wide, also, and ritually disparages black Americans every chance they get. How does it feel when the tables are turned and the spot light is now on you? Not good, huh? THAT HAS BEEN MY WHOLE POINT FROM THE BEGINNING! Now what are you complaining about? And don't pretend you're not a card-carrying member of league. You have to be.

Hey... "JESSE JACKSON", poster number 93 -

YA THINK, THEN, IT'S OKAY TO JUST TIE YOU TO THE BACK END OF A PICK-EM-UP TRUCK AND DRAG YOU DOWN THE PEBBLE ROAD UNTIL YOUR SKIN FALLS OFF AND YOU DIE??

I DIDN'T THINK SO......

I happened by chance to click on a link re: the entertainment industry....curiosity....and I'd say that 99% are Jewish or have Jewish names but anglicized them. I don't understand why there's such a hate-on for Jewish people. The leader of a middle east country, would like to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and.....there are people, unfortunately, who don't believe the Holocaust ever existed and yet......I've read about Holocaust survivors and their stories, so does that mean that those who don't believe this genocide at Hitler's hands, are lying??

know it all

I hope every job she attempts to get in the future is with a business that is either owned and/or operated by people of hebrew decent.
Narrow-minded people are usually idiots, it's amazing she remembers her own name.
I dated someone like her once, and the whole family was like that, totally narrow-minded morons. I ran as fast as I could away from that craziness.
I still see them around town, and they never change, because they're too stupid to realize that their thinking is so backwards.

this is ridiculous-unless you were raised to specifically think that jewish people "act" this way and black people "act" this way and asian people etc. etc... then of course you are predetermined to think a certain way. i was lucky enough to be brought up not seeing people this way. i see people as human beings b/c we are all individuals regardless of "race". nature vs. nurture people. think for yourself, don't be sheep!

Always interesting to get a peek inside the minds of anon. posters. Wow what an education. I feel bad for so many of you who judge an entire religion on your limited experiences. Seems to me hating people you don't know is a tremendous waste of time and energy. I pray you find the peace you obviously lack and need. When you are satisfied, happy in your own lives you won't need to be so narrow minded, so small. And so, I wish only good things for you.

Mission

1) It's a social experiment

2) The clip is from the CBS sister channel Showtime Too (paid cable), NOT the CBS channel itself, which is network television.

3) There are 54 cameras and 74 microphones in the house.

4) Let's put 54 cameras and 74 microphones in every nook of Abraham Foxman's house for three months and see if we all agree and are happy with his opinions, discussions and actions.

5) If you don't like it - DON'T WATCH IT.

Oh come on! So what! Have we become so fragile that we make a big deal about what a young girl believes to be true says on a tv show? Grow upTMZ. You say means things about women, fat people, skinny people etc. But when they mention Jewish in a manner you don't like it's suddenly what's good for the goose ISN'T good for the gander.

I find it funny that this is deemed "anti-Semitism". It wasn't anything really negative; it's just her idiotic observations. Everyone has opinions. It would be one thing if she came out and said " I hate Jews!" but she didn't. After all, Jewish people do have what are considered "Jewish last names". If your name is Sapperstein, the first thing that comes to mind isn't going to be "That person is probably Irish."

Get a grip people, and whoever this Abe Foxman is - he needs to get a life. Not everyone hates Jewish people - in fact, it never even comes to mind for most of us until somebody who is Jewish brings it up - which seems to be more and more common these days... as if being Jewish is something special.

Everybody's making a big deal out of nothing.
Everybody is so racial and bigoted that any little thing sets them off.
Aren't there more important things in this world to worry about? Like the trapped miners or the fires in Montana? Come On!
This is stupid!
