Oprah Subpoenaed in Alleged Profiling Case

Oprah Winfrey, Condi Rice, and Colin Powell are among a host of A-list celebs who were just subpoenaed in a racial profiling case in a Michigan Federal Court.

TMZ obtained court documents filed yesterday, which "commands" that a spectacular list of celebrities appear for depositions in a lawsuit filed by one Jerome Almon, who alleges that Canada has launched an attack on U.S. black rappers. The lawsuit claims Canadaian officals blame rappers for both increased gangs and gun violence in Toronto and Vancouver, and holds up black rappers at the border.

The list goes on to include Paris Hilton, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Snoop Dogg, DMX, Diddy, Jenna Jameson, Jay Z, 50 Cent, Eminem, Kobe Bryant, Spike Lee, Tom Sizemore, Martha Stewart and Heidi Fleiss. Mr. Almon, CEO of MurderCap Records, tells TMZ, "The white celebrities have been directed to appear, in order to show the hypocritical nature of Canadian policy toward rappers. Some of the white celebrities have far worse records than these rappers, but are still allowed to enter Canada with the red carpet rolled out."

Trip to Motor City ... everybody!

I think the issue is more about allowing a CONVICTED CRIMINAL into the country then a RAPPER. oh, wait, they are the same thing, aren't they.

Rap is garbage and rappers know this and rap is ruining America and will ruin Canada too. The truth is not to be called hate. It is simply the truth. I am a black american and I despise what rap crap is and how it is ruined my hood.

The Canadian's are really popping out of the woodwork. Too bad they don't have a backbone when it comes time to letting terrorists in and out of their country. Oh, that's OK, but just don't let SnoopDog come over he may smoke a blunt and call a women a HO. Frankly, he can say whatever he wants, he's not talking about me....just like the jack asses trying to blame rap music for Canada's social ills - - you're not talking to them. Take some personal responsibility - you're Country is not to be emulated.

You're glad to see the Prime Minister doing his job? Are you serious, doesn't Canada have porus boarders. Come on, why not tackle a real issue, like your jacked up social health care system - that brings people to the USA for health care. What about your public school system? Seems to me the Prime Minister is shooting fish in a bucket.

#18 and the guy who says we have no backbone. Both uneducated idiots. Canadian soldiers die in Afghanistan nearly every week. But you don't know that because you don't read to make yourself more informed about the world.

Look outside your own small world. Do you even have a passport? Do you know what one is?

Okay so I am Canadian. Our country is a heck of a lot more racially diverse then yours. Have you ever been to Toronto? This has nothing to do with being black and everything to do with being a rapper. How many concerts do you go to where there are shootings? This happens at concerts put on by rapper celebrities. (Not all, but some) and I believe has happened in the past here.

I'm glad my country is making it difficult for them to come in. This is OUR country and we like you Americans will do what we want in our country. If the rappers don't like it, they don't need to come here! LOL

Dirty Old Man in Canada (aren't we all?)

It is about time that American performers fight against Canadian border officials' classist, nationalist and racist practice of barring some performers from entering Canada. Hopefully, Canadian performers will fight US border officials' equally discriminatory practice of barring some Canadian performers from entering the US. Free trade? Ha! Crikey! You would think that border officials were scared of performers mounting the bods of every farmer's daughter in their country.

How did a frivolous lawsuit end up being an attack on Canada, and your attacks are always the same few complaints. The United States has allowed far more terrorists in to it's own country than have ever entered from Canada, only ONE terrorist has entered the U.S. from Canada in 1999.Not one of the 911 terrorists entered the U.S. from Canada they were all living in the U.S. As far as our health care system goes we appreciate our healthcare system because every Canadian is covered regardless of whether they or rich or poor. The reason there are not waits for surgeries in the U.S. is because millions of Americans do not have healthcare so they can not afford to enter a hospital.I don't mind Americans being critical of Canada if it is justified but whatever kind of healthcare system we choose to have does not affect you anyway.Stop watching so much Fox news and start getting your info. from a more reliable source.

Canadian are really pathetic. They don't allow people criticize their own government on Tv. Everything is controlled. They have similar news debate shows which they don't discuss their own social problems and the flaws of their system but they keep dissing American policies, social problems and systems. It's like telling their own people "Look! America is so terrible. If you want capitalism, you will have to deal with all these things."

If they had backbones, they would dare to talk about their social problems and polices openly and try to solve their own problems instead of criticizing America as a diverter.

Yeah as for what #18 said. That is a load of crap. In fact everything he said actually is the way it is now in the US since the Bush Administration took over. Many of your freedoms have been taken away. I lived in the US for 12 years and can tell you from living in both places, Canadians have many more freedoms then Americans. Gay marriage is simply one of many. Our health care system has its problems, just the the American system does, but at least everyone has health care.

The Blame Game

Everyone is responsible for their own actions. Putting the blame on celebrities is so ridiculous. Is this really what the world is coming to? Leave it to Canada to do something silly like this. Canada isn't making a statement or a point - they are just making fools of the entire country.

There is no Equal Opportunity Employment in Canada. You can have a company with all white employees there, not a single soul of non white person. As long as you don't say it out loud to a color person's face "I don't hire non white", you are safe. Even if there are more than 50% color people in your city and your are suspiciously racist, you can get away with it.
