Nick Hogan

In Serious Car Accident

8/26/2007 10:22 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0827_hogan_fm_bn-1UPDATE: Nick Hogan is reportedly in serious condition, but the passenger in the car sustained more severe injuries. He is listed in critical condition.

Hulk Hogan's son, Nick, was seriously injured in a car accident tonight in Clearwater, Fla.

Law enforcement tells TMZ the accident occurred around 7:31 PM ET. According to police, a Toyota Supra, driven by Nick Bollea (Hogan's real name), was traveling at a very high rate of speed when it lost control and hit a raised median. The car was flipped around and the back end hit a palm tree. The impact, we're told, "destroyed the entire car." The two male occupants were flown by Medivac helicopter from the accident scene to a hospital in St. Petersburg. We're told both men had "very very serious" injuries.

The accident happened on Court Street, a main drag in downtown Clearwater, causing the entire street to be shut down for hours.

No 911 call was made to police. The accident was called in by an officer who rolled up right after the crash happened.

It does not matter who or how many times a teenager is told " what will happen if" because they can't see the future beyond the next week-end. It was responsible of Nicks father to try to impress upon him"what will happen". Unfortunately, even if you do everything you think is right to give your child all the instructions that they will need in life, it is up to the child to take that advise and use it.

My heart goes out to both families and to the boys for a speedy recovery.

As a wise man once told me....keep on flying down the highway of life if you want to. There is always a ditch with your name on it. Something will stop you.

young people often take risks that older people wouldn't, somehow believing they are invincilble. I pray for the Hogan family that their love will bind them in together through this issue

This is what happens when accomplished celebrities spoil their kids without consequences. His father worked hard for celebrity, but this kid who uses his family name and his father's accomplishments to get dates, attention, and privileges--that wouldn't otherwise be available to him from anything he's done on his own, will likely kill someone soon unless he's finally made to grow up. Throw the book at this kid before he kills himself and/or others.

fame ho

Stop all the wimpering over this kid who laughed at the police EVERY time he got pulled over...he should have gotten arrested and gone to jail...if this kid dies...this is manslaughter....and from all the articles, pics, and out of the mouths of babes, NICK...he was going to drive as fast as he wanted to and NO BODY wans going to stop him....I hoped that if the worse happens ...he is charged to the fullest extent of the law...and go to jail...he has no education and no real skills other than speeding....nothing to offer this country....if his freind was good enough to serve in the war....speed over and enlist......after you have served 6-8 years for reckless driving that caused a death....that would be manslaughter....

Parents like Hulk are so obsessed about thier shows and his dauhters titis showing,,,,be a parent instead of a reality show...that usually always crashes and burns because there is not but egotisical idiots ...who have no skills education.....telling us how to be....Florida judical system must work this time and make this irresponsible kid pay for his empathy and no sympathy ..except to the young man who is fighting for his life. Boycott all idiot reality shows the Hogans...a bunch of empty headed , steroid biceps and boops.

NICK'S new boy...Ben Dover

Seems like everyone is quick to jugde the Hulk here for buying his son a "VIPER" or "VERY FAST" automobile and thats why this happened. Stop slamming the World Champion!! It doesnt matter if the car was high performance race car or a freakin VW Bug accidents happen to many young people everyday and clearly this was a accident. Should the Champs son be held accountable for this, I am sure he will, but dont hate on a man that loves his child too much or would you rather have him abuse and hurt them, that wouldnt change any of this. To: Mr Terry Bollea -- dont change being a good Dad, because you are just that. Your son for this needs a Dad on this one not a best bud. A Dad.....My prayers are for you and your sons friend and your family.

please go away!!!!

to #344 -- accidents do happen. But they are less likely to occur when you drive the SPEED LIMIT. Regardless how they spin it, or blame the police for not giving out the ticket, ultimately, it was Nick who CHOSE to drive fast. His foot hit the pedal. He was warned 3x and still did not take it seriously. Sadly, they will probably pay off the family of the injuried boy and get good lawyer to get Nick off. And so no real consquences will be felt. I hope Nick's driving license is take away, and he loses his sponsorship. Only then, will he feel the real extent of his actions.

These celebrity kids think that they could just do what ever they want and not suffer the consequences!!! I hope that this is a big eye opener and that he has more respect for the law and life. Maye someday he won't have daddy taking care of him and he will learn how to earn his won money. Either way I hope that his friend is ok.

Number 329 are you kidding me? You seriously believe what you said? This is your part of your exact statement: "I think that Nick shouldn't be getting sued for any of it cause no one know's why he was speeding his friend could also be ivolved in it just as well no one knows and it is sad what happened to nicks friend and it should of never happened and im sure Nick never ment to do what he did he isn't going to hurt his friend on perpose it was a terrable car ACCIDENT and no one should get into trouble and i think that nick should to some thinggy that teaches him not to speed and maby he will learn his lesson nexst time but i think the hogan family is a happy family i watch every show and they don't need all that drama and stress"
*This is not right? Dont get me wrong I feel for Nick and his family but HE had controll of the car not his friend. THEY DONT NEED ALL THE DRAMA AND STRESS for real? What about Johns family? The man comes home safely from war to be severly injured in a COMPLETELY avoidable "accident" by a boy that had a car WAY to mature for him? Point being Nick was the driver HE was responsible for his friends life! Despute it if you will, but anyone with an ounce of decency will see that this IS Nicks fault. This is a tragic time, how would you feel wondering for a period of time if your son was comming back from war in one piece or alive for that matter. And he comes home only to be in a hospital with no assurance of his survival because he was take for an out of control joy ride? I do not undersand your way of thinking! I really can not believe this! Put your self in John's partents place. Think about that for a while!

"Just tell it like it is....."

Let's not be so naive here. Just look at the facts and then draw your own conclusions:

1. The kid loves to drive fast-PERIOD!
2. He was recently stopped and received two warnings and finally a $305.50 speeding ticket.
3. He lied to the officer and told them he had a family emergency to get out of the ticket. The officer radioed ahead to inform another trooper to watch out for him driving a Black Mercedes and then was clocked driving 115 MPH!!!

So all you "Let's wait and see what the facts are first" knuckleheads go ahead and keep waiting. I'm sure Santa will send the Easter Bunny an email once all the facts are released and then we will know what we all knew all along-the kid was speeding, lost control, and seriously injured two people. I have yet to hear anyone write about the true victim in this case, which is the friend who was riding with him-who is in critical condition.
