O.J.'s Attorney: How I Would Have Gotten His Money

9/18/2007 4:13 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Ronald P. Slates, attorney for O.J. Simpson, sounded elated coming out of court today -- even offering up a little advice to David Cook -- the lawyer for the Goldmans!

Slates was excited that the judge turned down Cook's broad-based motion, requiring the Goldmans to file motions for items individually, not to make blanket requests. He then began to talk about how he would have gone after O.J.'s money if he were on the other side of things.

"I think Mr. Cook is an aggressive lawyer who sometimes does overkill," Slates told TMZ. "They should have done their homework."

Maybe "overkill" was a bad choice of words.

I watched the trial too - every day, and have read numerous books on the subject. So many, in fact, that I finally got sick of the subject! If I had been on the jury, and privy to all the evidence, not only what I SAW presented, I would have had NO RESERVATIONS about finding him GUILTY AS HELL!! However, I'm not black and wasn't pandered to and selected just for that reason. The prosecution did not do a very good job, but it did not matter, because that jury would not have found him guilty if they had each watched him slice those people to death and stepped in their blood! The ones who were not black were idiots who were "wowed" by his sub-zero celebrity factor. Not being a racist or anything.........

**My point exactly..I am a white granny, and yes I am a racist..I admit it..Everyone interpets what they see or read in a different way..You watched it and felt him guilty. I watched it and could not find him guily BEYOND a reasonable doubt. I had doubts..OJ the Celebrity or OJ the drunken/doped up addict..would make no difference in my book..Not enough proof beyond a reasonable doubt or if there was, not presented in a way to make me believe it. I feel sorry for those who died, but cannot feel sorry for someone who gave up on their loved one, had no contact with them for years, yet want to profit from their death.

Lone Ranger, white granny, you may be long gone by now, I just now checked back. I just wanted to respond to your post. You have a good point about how people perceive things. You seem to perceive the Goldmans as golddiggers trying to profit from their son's death. I tend to see them (maybe I'm wrong) as people who in their hearts know that their son was basically butchered like an animal by a psychopath who beat the system based on the "race card", which is bull, and then has rubbed their noses in it every single day since then. While their son/brother lies buried, OJ is out golfing, screwing around with white women, writing books about how he "would've done it", signing autographs for idiots, and robbing people in casinos. That has GOT to stick in somebody's craw. As a grandmother, if it was your grandson, surely you would feel that anger. Since they can't get their hands on him any other way, they channel that anger (admittedly not healthy, but understandable) into trying to make every second of every day of the rest of his life as hellish as possible. As a mother, I can understand that, and that is why I detest OJ, and hope he rots in prison, and they take away EVERYTHING he has and holds precious, just as he took everything from the two people he murdered and their families.

Ken,

Your comment was just stupid. Yes, why don't we throw out all the DNA evidence, and try to pin his acquittal on a pair of glasses. I guess Nicole's mother was behind all the beatings he gave her, the times he kicked the door in (as heard on the 911 tape), and slipped him the knife too. What an idiotic remark, but typical of O.J. supporters.
