Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the LAPD is conducting an investigation into a traffic mishap Friday, when Britney Spears ran over an L.A. County Sheriff deputy's foot. We're told the "traffic collision complaint" was filed by the Sheriff's Department and the LAPD is conducting an "active investigation." We're told the LAPD is looking at the possibility of hit and run.
The incident occurred as Brit was leaving the L.A. County Courthouse after her custody hearing.
UPDATE: The LAPD tells TMZ "The LAPD is aware that Britney Spears was leaving the courthouse. We are also aware that a deputy was injured. The LAPD is unable to confirm the details on the deputy's injury because the investigation is in its initial stage."
Why do you guys assume it was moving? She could have suddenly pressed the gas and surprised the cop who then would have NO WAY of getting out of they way. Dumbasses.
All I can say is that anyone even remotely in the same area code as Brit is putting their lives at risk when she is behind the wheel! Anyone not driving an M-1 tank is also at risk. I will say that the paps ( Flying Monkeys) do exacerbate the situation a bit in all fairness, because it can't be easy driving thru a techno-rave of flashes while negotiating human pylons ( TMZ staffers). Ah Grasshopper, if a celebrity falls in the woods and TMZ doesn't film it, does it make a sound?

Come on, give the girl a break. I am not a fan of hers by any stretch of the imagination, but I can't imagine what it must be like to drive with 50 people with camera surrounding your vehicle. Frankly, I'm surprised that a foot is the only thing she ran over. Plus, have you ever had your foot run over by a car? While not a pleasant experience, it's hardly worth investigating as a "hit & run".
What can I say. This girl needs to move back to Louisiana. Brittany, go home!!!! You are a major mess. You need to sourround yourself with calm and it's not going to happen where you are now. Calm can at least be the begginning of some kind of healing for you. You are in the middle of hell.
Like I said before - She commands more attention than the president. Only one that commanded more was pricess DI. Arrest the poeple causing the the commotion, Brit didnt do anything. A cop stuck his foot under the car. He should have been making the others move out of the way.
Come on... did the cop NOT see the vehicle. It sounds like another person after some of Britney's money! She just needs to disappear for a while. She needs people around her that actually care and who aren't just looking for the next time she either screws up or when someone else finds a reason to sue her.
