Brit Off to a Mental Hospital?

Sources tell TMZ the "responsible" people in Britney's life are trying to convince her to voluntarily enter a mental hospital.

We're told there's now a consensus -- she'll never get custody of her kids unless she undergoes intensive, in-patient treatment for what appears to be a severe bipolar disorder. But we're told Spears is resisting and does not want to enter a hospital.

And sources say that since her release from Cedars, Brit has "pulled it together, at least on the surface." She is coherent and engaged, but will not voluntarily enter a mental facility -- at least for now.

6. Britney is a perfect example of what drugs can do to a person. She didnt just wake up one day and decide to be a crazy bitch, Its so sad. BUT, she did it to herself, so she gets no sympathy here.

7. I feel sad for Brttney's situation. Most people going through the custody battles and mental illness can do so in the privacy of their own home, I wonder how much of her condition is aggravated by the press?

8. she really needs help. I don't know why she would not want to do anything to get her children back or why she would even want to lose them in the first place. I really believe this has a lot to so with postpartum depression.

13. Then some judge needs to FORCE her into treatment. Some family member needs to step up to the plate and
have her involuntarily entered into treatment. She needs to be saved from herself. If she has gotten to the point where losing her children won't do it, she's farther gone than we think!
