Heath Ledger Remembered

Over 300 family members and friends attended a 2-hour tribute to celebrate the life of Heath Ledger today in Australia. Heath's 2-year-old daughter made an appearance in a video montage, which included a song written by Ben Harper just for Matilda, called "Happily Ever After in Your Eyes."

Close family members later traveled to a small chapel where an emotional Michelle Williams paid tribute to the father of her child and read Shakespeare's Sonnet 18, "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" The family then joined fellow mourners at a restaurant on the beach. According to People, the actor's remains were cremated later in the day.

Ashlee Simpson Jessica Simpson may need to keep an eye on her little sis. Ashlee says Tony Romo, Jessica's latest boytoy, is "really cool" and that she "loves him."

Way to man up.

Boston Squashes the Little People

Earlier this week, oompa loompas from Beacher's Madhouse performed in Boston at an event for Playboy's new energy drink. Everyone was having a good time until police crashed the party and threatened to arrest Beacher because he was breaking a law that prohibits the promotion of albinos and little people, according to the General Laws of Massachusetts.

Police left with a warning, but the little people are outraged, and Beacher says he will "orchestrate the largest little person protest and performance" with 1,000+ little people set to hit the streets of Boston next month.

31. Um. The Boston law says nothing about consenting adults other than albinos. Somebody needs to actually read it maybe?

32. Hey FIBiker, so who gets your vote?

33. Hmmmm.....If my Father was the former President and my Mother was currently running for President, whatever would I do?? Of course she is helping her Mother's campaign!! Most adult children would love the opportunity to be a part of this historical event. Like the candidates or not, this process is what makes America great and if that guy at MSNBC can not think of something better to ask the former President, maybe he should find another job.

35. Kizzy, let me give you a clue. All candidates have their children working for them. Giving stump speeches, meet and greets, even organizing the volunteers and checking out the finances. If you don't believe me check out John Edwards, Mike Huckabee, John McCain and the whole Romney Clan. Back in 2000 and 2004, both Bush and Gore had their kids campaigning for them. If the family doesn't come out and campaign for the candidate, you have to wonder what's wrong that even his own family doesn't support him. I get that you don't like Hillary but the anchor was out of line. I don't think he should be fired for it but he was out of line.

36. I asked a family member who is a member of the LPA about the Oompa-Loompa item and she thinks it may have been an overly broad interpretation of the "anti-dwarf-tossing" regulation.

37. Kizzy is clueless. She failed to prove her point. I was dissapointed. She wasn't up for it. What the heck is anti dwarf tossing regulation? I hope thats a joke. Oompas on ABC right now. lol

39. When the Hell was the last time Massachusetts updated their laws... 1492 !?!?
:P

40. Apparently, there have been times and places (I believe most often at wrestling matches) where there was an event called dwarf-tossing. They would pay a dwarf for the evening and then see how far the wrestlers could throw him as a joke and make bets on the outcome. Needless to say, this was not particularly healthy for the dwarf but if you need money, you need money.

Actually, Massachusetts had to change its laws in 1692 when we got a new royal charter. And it was less than 20 years ago that we changed the law to allow stores to be open on Sundays. So, you see, we do change our laws but only when they need it. I just wish they'd changed the law to declare Paris Hilton "persona non grata". :-)

41. I think it's kind of interesting that Michelle looks almost like one of the blood family members.
I thought Heath was such a fine young actor that we could have seen such wonderful movies from in the future. He certainly had talent and was so understated. He really hated the attention that his profession caused and took interviews grudgingly. He detested auditioning for parts as well. A complex sweet hearted individual that will be missed so much.
RIP HEATH! My heart goes out to his whole family and sweet Matilda as well.

42. Wow Boton Belle, I thought the north was more refined! That is sad for the little person :)

43. I find it hard to understand how a 29 year old adult woman can be "pimped out" by her mother whether she's a presidential
candidate, or a celebrity. Chelsea Clinton makes her own choice to campaign for her mother. She is no longer a child-and she hans't been for years. She will be 30 years old in about another year. She could,ve made Hillary a grandmother a few times over. Whoever said that Hillary was pimping out her daughter needs to learn that adult children cannot be "pimped out" unless they are not mentally upto par, like Britney Spears, or developmently disabled. But Chelsea is a very intelligent woman. And I'm not even supporting Hillary for president.

44. Actually, Kelli, I'm not certain if it ever happened here in Massachusetts proper. I'd have to check with my relative. But it has happened in other places, I believe New York was one of them, and our legislature is very swift in protecting minorities. Or, at least, in passing laws to protect them. The application of said laws varies from district to district.

The oddest thing to me about "dwarf-tossing" is that some little people objected when the LPA made certain such laws were passed claiming that they were being deprived of income.

45. So, David Beckham has a 25 foot package. Why not. His wife has 25 foot silicone t*ts.
