Janet Jackson won't be live from New York this Saturday night -- she's got the flu!
Sources tell TMZ that Ms. Jackson has dropped out of performing on "Saturday Night Live" this week. No word who her replacement will be.
Us first reported Janet checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. last night for shortness of breath and the flu.

What's the diff if she has the flu? She's just going to stand there and lip sync to her enhanced tracks anyways. She sucks.

She can't sing worth a hoot which is why she disguises any record with so much musicand jumps around like a humping jumping bean. Just once I would like to hear her sing one quiet ballad with no jumping around like a jumping jack and no loud music and no lip synching - she won't do it - she can't sing. It's no loss her not being on SNL. Same with Paula Abdul.

I don't buy it. I live in NYC and the flue has been gone for two weeks. I think the pressure of actually singing LIVE without backtracks or underground vocals was too much for her to handle.
