Bank Strikes Out Jose Canseco's House

Retired baseball star Jose Canseco's 7,300 square foot $2.5 million Encino, California mansion has been foreclosed on. Maybe he should get a place with Latrell Sprewell.
Jose Conseco loses his house to foreclosure
In an interview this week, Canseco blamed his financial woes on a couple of divorces and the fact that after taxes, he was really only living on $17 or $18 million.

The slugger did admit that his financial situation is different than most Americans and that he felt sympathy for other families going through foreclosures -- with even fewer millions than he has.

1. People like Jose just don't get it. Pay your bills and stop living beyond your means!

2. Just because he got famous doesn't mean that he forgets his responsibility! Bills still have to be paid regardless. Maybe go back to school to learn the basics eh?

3. Totally agree, Lenn K. I have absolutely no sympathy for this man at all.

4. More bad news for Jose. He doesn't qualify for the economic stimulus rebate.

5. Dude - I have a doublewide mobile home for sale in Newnan GA that I can let go of for $118,000. Call me.

6. If you're living on 17 or 18 million a year, wouldn't you use your pocket change to pay off your 2.5 million dollar house? Have you ever looked in this guy's eyes? There is no one home (pardon the pun). He's so dumb, he probably can't even spell 'loser'.

7. I just don't get it...what in god's name do these morons do with all the damn money? C'MON!

8. Sorry, I meant living on 17 or 18 million dollars. At any rate, anyone in their right mind would pay off their house (for security purposes or prepare for rough times) , then take the ex-wives back to court, claim to have less money and get the alimony reduced. Duh!

9. At least he showed a modicum of being in touch with the reality of commoners, with that statement...

10. Who knows about his 'financial woes.' Maybe he walked, with the bank holding most of the property. Who lets go of a property they want with that much money in the bank? Or maybe he's flat broke, with far less left, but wants to keep the ladies coming.

11. Too bad he lost everything but dude, but it's a blessing because that house is one of the FUGLIEST things around. If you're wife picked it out, good things she's gone too because she's probably as tacky as that house looks.
She obviously has no gay friends...gays to let breeders buy ugly houses.

12. Looks to me like he spent a lot of money on hair grease.

13. Maybe he tried to sell it and couldn't beacause it is so ugly...............so, he told the bank they could have it!!!

Seriously, I agree with Lenn K.! When you start coming into money, pay off the house first! It is called security!

14. Actually, people with money like to let the bank hold most of the mortgage, and let other people pay it off. If you can't afford the mortgage on a house like this, you certainly can't afford the taxes or the upkeep. This is not middle suburbian thinking. This is no accident, IMHO. Believe you me, Canseco is not out on the street without a roof over his head.
