A bar in Illinois that dared to call itself "Cheers" is getting the legal 86 from the folks that cooked up the show.

According to the lawsuit, the bar is using the exact same name and logo as the "Cheers" bars all over the country ... which are licensed by CBS. You'd have to have the mental capacity of Woody Boyd to jack the signature sign like these people did and not think CBS would come after you.

Maybe it's all over for the Illinois "Cheers" anyway -- a call to the bar said that the phone had been disconnected.

3. CBS should come check out Red Deer, Alberta, Canada! We have two Cheers locations here, same logo, definitely not part of any franchise!

6. Who cares. This show has been off the air for years and isn't a major sitcom for repeats. CBS should be grateful for the bar reminding people of the old show.

9. They should have come up to Capreol, Ontario about 15 to 20 years ago..we too, had a Cheers..exact same thing. I think they even sponsored a baseball team in town. I know "everyone knew MY name"

YOU BETTER APPRECIATE THE JOB YOU'VE , BECAUSE COMPANIES ARE LAYING OFF

DAILY . BECAUSE COMPANIES ARE MOVING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND GIVING

15. I've been to the bar, sorry to see it close-was pretty decent. I always wondered if they got permission to use the name and same logo.
