Didn't X-tina turn black for a while? Changing styles is like changing their underwear. Once a week, if they wear 'em at all
I wish you people would just drop this crap already. I am an African American/Black woman and I really don't give a damn about a freaking Lo'real ad or their products and I doubt if most Blacks do being that I rarely see many buy their products...so just STFU with this crap...Let it go...Nina find something else to talk about...It's ashame that Bernie Mac dies and this broad is on the internet digging for Beyonce Lo'real ads from 2001...Insecure ass people...it's just a damn add...GROW UP!
danny c, sorry but racism is A LIVE and WELL, don't be so ignorant to think it's not, I'm not racist, however I'm not stupid enough to think it's DEAD, as you say and it will always be around...people are just more quiet, about it! Plus I think Beyonce like all other black women, want that beautiful, silky, flowing hair, but they can't have it, it's just not genetic nor will it ever be...so they have to fake it. That's all
This stuff is nothing really new. L'Oréal wants to make money like
all the other corporations (Uh hmmm Time Warner). Corporations will
do whatever it takes to get paid.
I don't see the big deal either. I'm black, and have brown skin, and i personally always thought beyonce didn't look black. I think she looks latin, but not necessarily white. On all her pictures she has pale skin. i saw a highschool picture of her, and her skin was even more pale than the loreal ad. I think beyonce just has really light skin, that's all.
No one should be so concerned about what loreal did. If any one is trying to make her look white, it is her. After all, she did dye her hair blond for 90% of her career.
It is true that products that cater to our major clientel, which is white woman, must not any shape or form alienate them when we have an African American spokesmodel. Therefore, either consciously or unconsciously we depict of African American spokesmodels in a lighter sense in our ads, so our target buyers (white women) can still envision themselves in the spokesmodels place.
In addtion, this is process has been going on for years. The process is only for marketing purposes and not to be racist.
Thank you.
comment to #9--Beyonce is half black pleeasse beyonce, olange and momma tina will set you straight their full bloodedBlack so you need to take that mess somewhere else. You can say that about mariah carey take her!
Okay...obviously someone has NEVER dyed his/her hair before. The color of your hair completely changes the look of your skintone. This light reddish tone to Beyonce's hair is completely making her skin look more yellow and pale. And lighting DOES make a difference. To enhance the hair color, stronger lighting was used. Anyone who understands basic lighting principles understands this. Come on, folks...the only reason this is an issue is because some ignorant fool WANTED it to be an issue!
Her nose looks like it's been airbrushed to be more thin and narrow in the last photo compared to the first photo.
And OMG!!! They changed her eye color and her eye brows! How dare they! Trying to make her look white....C'mon people...you are really reaching here. And if Miss Beyonce really had issue with the pics, do ya think these would of ever been on commercials, advertising, etc? Story is over.
What is the big deal, no this is not racist. What the hell people do not microanalize everything it is not worth it. Peace to all you peeps.
They're not trying to whitewash her! They're trying to show what their cosmetics & hair dye can do! Look! We can make really dark hair nearly blonde! Buy our stuff! Granted they made her look kinda blah & washed out and that's some bad, bad lighting but geez! Get over it. Personally I'm more offended by the second picture with all that comical purple eye shadow!
