Bettie Page, the iconic model who unwittingly launched the look of a million "Suicide Girls", was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack in L.A. Tuesday.
The 85-year-old, who's leopard skin bikini layouts made her one of the most famous pin-up girls of the 20th century, is currently listed as critically ill.

It was a deep honor for me to have been one of the few people Bettie Page ever allowed to interview her at length... and I'm DEEPLY indebted to her... for her trust in letting me be the only reporter... she ever let interview her for an in-depth TV chat about her own life.
She was more than a beautiful "pin-up" model... as you'll hear in the interviews, in her own words... she was also a marvelous and lovely woman - truly "inside and out". A wonderful soul.

12. Her Christian conversion was incredibly insincere. She is born again... Yet doesn't want to be photographed in old age because she wants people to remember her when she was young. That is, with raven bangs and her legs spread. Being "born again" means leaving all that behind, not building it into a legend. And when she does get photographed, it's with Pamela Anderson.
She was the Madonna of her time, but in a way even worse. She made pornography and even sadomasochism look cute and fun, like it was no big deal. Just a bit of girlish glee.
