As far as “politics class” is concerned, I think you mean a class in economics, and perhaps political science. If you self-appointed geniuses had done either, you would know that the current economic crises got its foothold years ago. Not during the past 18 months the Dems held majority rule. They (Oxley), tried to pass legislation back in 2005 to help curtail the impending sub-prime mortgage meltdown; the House voted for it, but the Senate and a hostile White House voted against it, thereby killing the Bill. By the way, Congress was under the majority rule of the Republicans, then, not the Dems. Actually, there's enough blame to go around for both parties.

I'm a democrat, but i don't hate George Bush (maybe George Bush SR.) I don't believe he's a moron or an complete failure as a president because Republicans voted him into office, and most of them support him, so i don't feel he failed them, BUT, if Obama does turn the country into a positive direction and fix our economy, our there any open minded republicans out there that will acknowledge his success. Really really curious. :)

the Secret Service and US Army should have blown this guy to pieces

Pretty funny. It probably won't be the last time Bush has something thrown at him. The guy will be like a prisoner in his own house after he leaves office. Not a country in the world really wants him around.

I'm not bashing George Bush at all. Not a bad guy. Some democrats don't hate him at all. He believes he was doing the right thing for our country, but are YOU going support and stick up for Obama if he does really well, or is allegiance just political.

Why do people hate Bush so much? All I can say is they better be glad they live in a country where they have freedom of speech. If not, they would be arrested, put in prison or possible killed. This is the way Saddam ruled Iraq. We are very fortunate here in the US. We can act like asses for the whole world to see and get away with it.

As in most cases, Obama really won't have too much of an impact on what the economy does. All throughout history, the economy has been driven by consumer confidence. There is an ebb flow to that no matter who is in office. Its just like when Ronald Reagan was in office. The economy was so horrible under the Carter Administration, that there wasn't anywhere for things to go, except up. Did Ronald Reagan single handedly fix the economy? No.

Nor was positive things happening during the mid to late nineties a result of Bill Clinton. There was an economic uptick due to the internet bubble, which eventually burst, resulting in a recession before Clinton left office.

U.S. output has expanded faster than in most advanced economies since 2000. The International Monetary Fund reports that real U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) grew at an average annual rate of 2.2% over the period 2001-2008 (including its forecast for the current year). President Bush will leave to his successor an economy 19% larger than the one he inherited from President Clinton.

During the same period, the U.S. unemployment rate averaged 4.7% from 2001-2007. This compares with a 5.2% average rate during President Clinton's term of office, and is well below the euro zone average of 8.3% since 2000.

So is that the single handed work of George W. Bush, probably not. Presidents do not ultimately control economic cyles.

What Obama will more than likely have a deep impact on though are social standards. We can expect to see more abortion and demand and several policy adjustments that will promote homosexual "marriage." Expect to see a lot of the values our country was founded on (and yes, let's discount the abomination of slavery, etc), to diminish under Obama. These type of things are what conservatives will not be able to overlook in judging the incoming President.

It really funny how people can see how America's economy can effect the rest of the world. One thing effects another, just like domino's falling. And #35, Demo's did go out and vote in both 2000 and 2004, and I truely believe enough voted to win, but the White House seat got stolen from them. Twice. It's amazing how that got covered up also. Everyone talks about how great a democracy is, but it doesn't matter when the elections are fixed. How conveinent for Georgie boy that his brother Govern's Florida, eh?
