Porn Kings to D.C. - Help Us Through Hard Times

1/7/2009 2:15 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Joe Francis and Larry FlyntJoe Francis and Larry Flynt claim the economy has made America's sexual appetite go limp, so they're going to the one place where sex is always rampant -- Congress.

Flynt (the "Hustler" guy) and Francis (the "Girls Gone Wild" dude) are asking the government for a $5 billion bailout, claiming the adult entertainment industry has taken a huge shot to the face because of the downturn -- citing the fact that XXX DVD sales are down 22% from a year ago.

"With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind," Flynt says. "It's time for Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America."

Francis sees his industry like the big three automakers, only BIGGER: "Congress seems willing to help shore up our nation's most important businesses; we feel we deserve the same consideration."

Francis says he's going to D.C. to personally make the pitch. Sounds like someone has a bone to pick.

If it's not a joke it will be sad if anyone in Washington takes them seriously. That is the beauty of America and free enterprise. Anyone can makeit rich or create an empire in America but there is a chance it may go under at anytime. I am sure either one didn't feel the government was entitled more money then what was collected in taxes when things were good. Atleast their tax bill went down and I am sure there are smaller porn and sex sellers are picking up some of their business.

If only the American Porn industry had kept up with the Japanese and Chinese porn industries, they wouldn't be in the pickle they're in right now. While they were turning out the same old, same old, the Japanese were experimenting with Futanari and Bondage Doujin. It's there own damn fault.

If Joe gets a bail out, I get one too. His stupid "subscription service" method of sales bankrupted me and is forcing my DVD collection into foreclosure.

Seriously, this is OUR money. Screw Joe Francis. He's a genuine slice of crap.

while this will be treated as a publicity stunt, these two do make a good point. "porn" is a Billion dollar industry. if the government bailouts are about saving large businesses, then the business of sexual entertainment should be near the top of the list of recipients .. unless, of course, we're all just a bunch of hypocrites. meanwhile, these guys need to look at the fact that porn dvd sales are down because they are simply too expensive. there's no good reason why they should cost three times as much as any other dvd. bring the prices down and sales, and other things, will rise !

Yes how about we forget the millions of people living in poverty, having their homes foreclosed, living paycheck to paycheck. Let's bail out the pornographers!!! What a f***ing joke!

Doesn't anyone understand that this is satire? Larry Flynt and Joe Francis, by going to D.C. to ask for a bailout, are pointing out the greed and hypocrisy of other executives who have asked for (and received) bailouts.

Is there a moral difference between giving government money to a pornographer and giving government money to financiers who have stolen hundreds of billions of dollars from the American people?

Oh are you kidding me?? Now i am all for a good porn BUT instead of bailing out these sex starved RETARDS, give us the tax payers more money in our stimilus to spend on stuff WE need to be bailed out of. Sorry guys but my rent, electric bill and car payment is ALOT more important than paying my tax dollars to keep up thier million dollar lifestyles. If they are so concerned about the porn industry going under, get a new friggin job. I REFUSE to have my tax dollars goto these idiots who cant manage their money. I BUST my ass everyday to keep my family above water, im not about to bail thier crook asses out....HEY CONGRESS< BAIL US OUT< GIVE US MORE IN OUR STIMILUS!

That's funny because I just read an article and while listening to Dan Savage's podcast that says sex toys and other items to make your bedroom life better have significantly increase in this economic hard time. Mainly because it's entertainment that is cheap and still fun.
Then again, internet porn is the way of the future and why pay to watch unrealistic people be paid to have sex and fake orgasms when so many people are willing to do it and put it up on the web for free?

The article is hilarious. What's even funnier is that it serves as a test of intelligence. Judging by the comments most of you failed. Anyone who took it seriously is a complete tool.

Aspiring PR Sex Godden

Whather you care to admit it or not sex is a hot industry. It keeps millions of people employed each year. Just like any other industry this one is feeling the economic crunch. It's not the "perverts" looking for a bailout. It's employed professionals. Just like whatever industry you're in the sex industry has skilled professionals. If you run a law office do you not have secretaries, mail clerks, IT pros, cleaning people, accounting professionals? Believe it or not so does the sex industry. You shut down porn and not only are you shutting down the billions who watch it your're shutting down the billions of dollars that this country brings in on sex. That will eventually have an impact on your pocket book when the unemployed "porn" industry "perverts" are looking for work and applying for the same jobs you apply for. It's called the ripple effect...
