Kevin Costner 911

TMZ has learned Kevin Costner was rushed to the hospital Tuesday.

It happened in Hollywood, at around 10 AM. We're told Costner was driving to a meeting when he began feeling ill and lightheaded -- so bad he pulled over and called 911. As he waited for paramedics, we're told Costner began vomiting.

Costner was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was held overnight for tests. We're told the tests were normal and he was released yesterday.

Was it really necessary to put such an unattractive picture of him up, just because he was sick?

Could be a kidney stone, that'll give you a tummy ache and pain will hit you all at once and hurt so bad you have to vomit!!! Been there, done that twice myself. Thank God I wasn't driving though. I was at home and had Hubby drive me to ER. Atleast there's litotripsy to fix this problem quickly if needed!

These are also symptoms of acute meningitis, so it was best to be on the safe side.

...and BTW, Cynthia J. you don't save the country money on health care by NOT using your benefits. The company or you pay for the benefits to cover the expense. With symptoms that may have indicated a heart attack, Costner was wise to go to the emergency room. So now it is unwise, illegal, stupid or irresponsible to take care of one's health? If you chose to stay home to wait out the flu, and you suffered from dehydration because of the flu...you too could have been seriously ill. Martyrdom or ignoring the symptoms of one's illness does not qualify one to criticize others who decide to be smart and check out their symptoms. Any doctor would tell you the same. Our health care crises is not the result of people with insurance using the health care system. That's just not a valid argument. He got sick and he went to the E.R. The last time I checked that was not a crime

I would just like to make the comment .... I was feeling light headed, felt like the flu was coming on, hit me like a ton of bricks, i knew something was just not right, called my daughter, got her out of a wonderful massage ... i felt bad about that, but.
I'd have done it for her. by the time she got to me 15 minutes later, I was vomiting, walking to her SUV sat down to vomit on the curb. By the time she got me to the emergency room 10 miles away I was in a coma ...I had contracted BACTERIAL MENINGITIS ... No Warning, except flu like symptoms, and I am never sick. I had just gotten run down over the Holiday season. I was put in quarantein in the hospital and only foud out when I woke up 2 days later after coming out of my room askig questions. ( wow! and wow, because they about had a heart attack getting me back in my room!) Please read up on Bacterial meningitis. Viral is not as bad. But, a Large Headache, chills, cold - numb toes etc. I just thought it was winter time and needed to turn the heat up. My theromometer was never used and did not work. Ran 103 temp at 53 yrs old. for 2 days, it read 99.
I am glad he was more safe than sorry. Maybe he does not get ill, and he knew not to mess with assuming. Feeling faint, light headed is not a good thing, esp at our age, and his. I doubt if he would have called had he been drinking or doing anything illegal. I think Kevin Cosner is a very good guy, has anyone ever had any reasons not to think so. We all make mistakes. I don't think calling 911 was a mistake for him. We should all play more safe than sorry. READ ABT. MENINGITIS, AND BE THERE FOR A LOVED ONE, SHOULD THEY CONTRACT IT. THEY WILL BE ON LOTSSS OF MEDS. PREDNOSONE BEING ONE VERY BAD (BUT GOOD) ONE, WHICH WILL MAKE YOU EAT AND EAT AND EAT. YOUR HEAD SWELLS UP LIKE A BIG BALLOON .... GET OF OF IT ASAP, B/C OF COMPLICATIONS. JUST FYI. :) BET YOU WILL KNOW ATLEAST ONE PERSON IN YOUR LIFE TO CONTRACT THIS TERRIBLE DIS-EASE. :)

Look, it could have been a mild heart attack, you people are so cruel. You never know, but if you are lightheaded and starting to vomit, there could be a serious underlying cause, then, maybe not, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Hope you feel well soon.

MadeInUSA - way to go. Your note was a really good example of the ramblings of an ignorant, mean-spirited person with nothing to do but write juvenile messages on a message board in hopes of horrifying or shocking readers. Afraid you'll have to do better than that. These days I am sorry to say there is little to shock anyone on these boards. Our society has been dumbed down and deteriorated to the point where it can only be sad to be in a sad state. Whether it is Costner who has himself been a good samaritan and saved a life (when was the last time you did) and contributed to many charities or Obama who is a very intelligent man who I have no doubt can run circles around you when it comes to thinking (and excuse me when was the last time you were successfully elected to National office?). I am sad for you that you have nothing else to do.

OK people...let's get real...People who start to feel dizzy and also might be vomiting could be having a heart attack...I would rather him call 911 to get help than to drive feeling dizzy and maybe running into someone...some people can just be so rude.
