Wether or not he's a hypocondriac....
NEVER judge a person who thinks they might be sick and just assume it's in their heads. Always give them the benefit of the doubt and have it checked out.

Medical students have that phenomena all the time as they're studying. My brother went through that. You are learning so much about all sorts of illnesses, that anytime you start to have a headache you think it's a tumor and that sort of thing.
Howie had just found out the doctor thought he had a heart murmur (or whatever); goes to point that he would then if he had an ache or pain in the chest that he would think it was something bigger than what it likely was. Still better to have it checked out than be sorry.

TMZ, wow you are far behind on current events. Howie Mandel has made it very public that he is a hypochondriac for years now. He has spoken out on it on his own reality show and on pretty much every talk show he's been on he has talked about his condition. That's why he does that lame fist bump thing and he does not touch the same part or the suitcase on Deal or no Deal. This news is O-L-D, old I expect better research from you TMZ!

A person can still have an irregular heartbeat regardless of whether they are a hypochondriac or not.The hospital would not have kept him overnight if some abnormal rhythm didn't show on the ECG.He did the right thing by getting it checked out.
