4. She lived on the original cul-de-sac and after her first marriage fell apart from that jerky guy in the photo...was the LOVE of Greg Sumners life...and when she died it was the saddest episode! She left a video telling everyone how she felt about them and especially her daughter, who she bought her a clothes for her to wear when she grew up. Greg lost it and couldn't watch it and didn't know if he could raise the kid...I think Karen and Mac raised her. After this Greg started up with Paige, (Nicolette Sheridan)

5. Laura Avery was one of the most important characters during the first half of "Knots Landing's" run. She was Abby's main competition and Laura beat Abby out when Greg Sumner married her and fathered her child, Meg, whom Karen& Mac fought for custody of against Abby. Laura was one of the 3 original female characters along with Val and Karen. Laura was also the first female character to become successful financially without inheriting or marrying into money. She was close to Gary and Val and later on to Karen and Mac. She was a down-to-earth tyep who was also sophisticated and was alone single and on her own more thant the other women.
