No Plans for Neverland Ranch

6/28/2009 4:50 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Neverland ranchThe future of Neverland Ranch is still up in the air, according to an associate of the company that now owns it.

Tohme Tohme -- Jackson's longtime friend and a partner of Colony Capital, part owner of Neverland -- tells TMZ so far no decision has been made about what do with Michael Jackson's famous former home.

We're told one of the options being discussed is to make Neverland some sort of museum or shrine to Jackson.

Might as well make it a museum. Those in Ysidro who don't like it might as well have it anyway. People will be coming back again and again to Neverland. Nobody will ever live in that house again, and no business wants the negatives of bad publicity and a stream of people who are "just looking" either. With a museum you can pay for the police protection, road wear and tear, and limit visitors to official hours and times.

I think they should bring the rides and make it a museum!!!! He was the king of pop and music will never be the same without him, no one will ever be what he was and we should always remember what he did for the music industry and what better way to do that then with a museum. Let his music live on if not music as we know it is just going to turn into more and more crap. For example; all those artist who do nothing but talk about females (and not using that word) and money and b.s. after b.s. Let us truly remember music for what it was and for what he made it! Lets not let his music and what he did die with him. I would def. go to the museum! Even though he is gone and hopefully finally resting because Lord knows he didnt have any peace on this earth, but lets not let die what he gave us which cost him his childhood and his life!

ofcourse it should be turned into a museum.despite the allegations against him.he is and will always be an incredible artist,i also think that half the proceeds should be donated to charity michael spent his whole life helping others and it would be nice for him to know that he has continued doing so in his too early departure. rest in peace

To all you wanting a museum, One question: How do you expect to pay for this? Don't expect he state of California to come up with funds, same goes for SB County, and Santa Ynez. Second, after Michaels bogus trial in 2005 he stopped paying for the maintenance on the ranch. Those pictures you remember of Neverland with the giraffes, the ferris wheel, and the green manicured lawns - that was 20 years ago. The last aerial photo TMZ showed the grounds were unrecognizable, I'm sure it hasn't gotten better. Just remember him as the young man in Jackson 5 not the older man with problems. Tear it down, Tear it down, Tear it down!

Michael's fans worldwide would love to visit Neverland. Perhaps in cooperation with local property owners and the county/state they could limit public access to the road and use tour buses like they do at the Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Such an arrangement could limit the impact on the neighbors and direct tourist traffic to a designated commercial area better equipped to deal with it.
