Michael Jackson's Grand Farewell

7/7/2009 1:28 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Michael Jackson's Grand FarewellMichael Jackson will create even more pandemonium in death than he did in life -- his body will take center stage at Tuesday's public memorial at the Staples Center in downtown L.A.

The family will hold a private memorial early in the morning at Forest Lawn -- where the body is now. The coffin will then be transported to Staples for what promises to be one of the biggest spectacles in L.A. history.

We will be live streaming everything as it happens beginning early in the AM.

#79: No, you're not the only one. I'm sick, too. Not just HOW this is all happening but THAT it is all happening.

I hope they do a good job with this memorial service. I saw Michael at James Brown's funeral in Augusta; he had this look on his face (as best we could tell, seeing as how he was wearing sunglasses)...he seemed to be amazed at how the public responded to and participated in the service. There was a concert, a short sermon, eulogies - everything. It was so beautiful and spirit-filled. Though celebrities were brought out after the fans had filed in, Michael et al. could see all of the thousands of fans lining up for blocks to get into the arena, file past James' casket for one last look, remain another 2+ hours until the service began and yet another 3 hours for the service itself. Despite a packed house, it was very organized. Granted, James did have a somewhat smaller following, and attempting to put on the funeral of one of the biggest personalities to ever live is a logistical nightmare. However, if it were possible (and people were willing to go through with and pay for it), I think Michael would have wanted a service comparable to James' home going service. Everything about his demeanor on that day (and the story of him spending five hours with the body the night before) suggests that.

Yeah, Michael Jackson is dead. He can't hear messages. Looking at a dead body is spooky special. How disappointing that fans can't see it. He should have put a provision in his will to be mummified and set on display at Neverland. Christ.

True, it could have been a crematorium, but the map I have that I use for my visits to my relatives doesn't have a crematorium on premises.

I don't think the casket is that bad considering Michael's taste. He loved ornate works.

84. It's possible the building he was taken to is the crematorium.

84 it kinda looked like it might be the crematoreum...IDK... If they are bringing him in - they would most likely use the white furneral coach we all saw last week. ...would be flashy with the golden casket - I just dont know what to make of it all at this point.... I will be tuning in to CNN - all day coverage (so they say starting at 6AM)???

Remember the elephants are due at 3am to walk Fiquero street to Staples ... ohhh boy

Jackson's public memorial will take place tomorrow at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where Jackson's body will be placed in a closed coffin on a raised plinth, with stars like Jennifer Hudson and Mariah Carey expected to perform.

Of course, why would they have ordered that expensive casket if they were going to cremate him? I didn't think of that before.
