Second Worker Dies -- Madonna Breaks Down

Madonna took a moment during her concert in Italy last night to pay tribute to the two men who died constructing her stage in France earlier in the day.

Madonna cried as she called the loss "tragic" and said she was "devastated to be in any way associated with anyone suffering."

1. "devastated to be in any way associated with anyone suffering." then please realize you're not 20 anymore and cover your nasty ass up.

2. If she was truly devastated she would cancel the tour, at least for a short while.

3. The show must go on... and of course Madonna will be making sure that the families of the workers killed and injured while working for her are financially taken care of. right? sure. I cynically predict that the only way those poor workers and their families will see a cent of compensation for injury/death sustained in the workplace is to sue her.

7. I agree with Jim.. If she is so upset why not donate to the families of the victims? After all they were working on her set...

9. I'm not a Madonna fan or anything, but I don't really see how a stage collapsing is her fault. If she does do something for the families that would be wonderful, but I'd think there'd be a better target for liability in this case? I haven't paid attention to the details but I doubt Madonna gets out a drafting board and draws the building plans for her stage setups or chooses what cranes to use or whatever.

I'm more weirded out by the crowd's YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY reaction. She's talking about 2 people dying and they're all applauding. Maybe a cultural difference but that was kinda creepy to me.

12. Dumb audience continually yelling and worshipping Madona while she speaks of 2 people dead. Example of what's wrong with society.

15. She was more likely only upset that it took attention away from her, cost her money and otherwise inconvenienced here.
