TMZ should be held responsible for these comments

The bottom line is this, a young woman lost her life too soon. This website and these comments that have been allowed to remain public absolutely blow my mind. She may have been "whacky" or a "bad singer", but more than anything she was human and should be treated like one. Todays society seems to lose sight of the fact that these people we see on television shows, movies, music videos, etc are all in fact REAL PEOPLE! Who are any of you to judge her and speculate on what she may or may not have been doing at 4:00am?! Regardless of what she may have done that night, she was left on the side of the road by some selfish drunk kid who couldn't be bothered to stop. Everyone is tough on the internet, you're a bunch of cowards!

Shame on all of you, and shame on TMZ for not removing these comments!!!!

i think that everyone needs to remember there are 2 sides to every story. the only 2 people who know the truth are alexis & dan. i know dan personally for many years and he is honestly a good kid who i am sure is in complete devastation over what has happened. im not defending what he has done because drinking & driving is serious which could lead to a tragedy like this (which as we all know it has in the past) but i am defending the fact that people are quick to judge before knowing the truth & i believe that dan deserves to be treated like a human being too(until there is proof that he has actually done what has been assumed). however, all theses assumptions are being made by people all over before ever really knowing the true story. its extremely unfortunate what has happened to alexis and i send my condolences to her family & friends. This kind of stuff happens all the time. Is the only reason it is being made into such a big scene because she tried out for American Idol. I knew Dan personally for many years. He is completely devastated over this entire thing. I just think the media and "little article" writers are quick to blow something up for some recognition. Do I think what he did was wrong as far as drinking and driving? Yes i do. But assumptions ahould not be made about other incidents until there is proof it was actually him. as far as the charges stated in the article above. those have not been brought upon him yet. yes there are many charges he has against him but vehiclular homicide has not been one of them yet.

to poster 58 ... Maybe if these situations that you seem to think arent a big deal were "blown up" more often then they wouldnt happen as frequent as they do, But the sad truth is that they do happen all too often. Who cares if she tried out for AI or not, a human life was TAKEN, and I think it's brilliant that people can log on and read about it and face a little bit of reality. Maybe it will stop someone from getting into a car with a drunk driver or getting behind the wheel after having a few. Children aren't taught enough about drinking and driving and ALL of the consequences. Not only is drunk driving wrong on so many levels, but it's illegal and no matter which side of the story you look at it from what he did was illegal AND wrong. And to be quiet frank, your post sounds very ignorant

All of you inconsiderate @$$h073$ need to stop and think that this woman had a family that loved her and are grieving immensely. Just because she put on a good show at the Idol auditions and acted silly doesn't mean that her life wasn't worth something. She was a human being for goodness sake. Have a heart and some respect. She didn't deserve to be KILLED by some complete waste of oxygen that chose to drink and drive and commit murder. I hope she rests in peace and I hope Karma kicks all you mean and heartless morons where it hurts!!!
