I am a proud Native American and I just wanted to say that I am not offended by this remark. If everyone really knew what an "Indian Giver" really meant, no true Native should be offended by this.
WE liked to be referred to as NATIVE AMERICAN!
I bet she doesn't even know what triber her great-great-great-grandmother/father was. If she REALLY is 1/16 Native American on her mother's side that's how far it would have went back. If she really is what she claims to be she is a shame to her tribe (which she probably doesn't even know anything about).
Tony Romo was at a party the day after the breakup. He was taking it well and looking for a good time. Check out some video of the party

I looked the term up online and I haven't read any comments (I only got up to page 11) that explain what I feel is the best definition of the term "indian giver." The native people may have given things to the explorers. The arrogant explorers thought these were gifts. But the native people were simply trying to trade. For what they gave, they wanted something in return. Since the europeans didn't trade with them, they wanted their things back. It makes sense that they didn't realize to trade because they thought of the native people as savages. Thus it is a reference to the native people and not the explorers. It is offensive because the explorers gave this term to cast them as people who give gifts and then want them back. But! They were not gifts! This is how I understand it anyway. I'm an American finished with school, but I'm just now trying to understand our real history. So many of us don't. It is ignorance. Jessica Simpson didn't mean any offense.
