Hugh Hefner Pulls Trigger on Marriage

Hugh Hefner After eleven years of estrangement from his wife, Hugh Hefner finally made the move to end his marriage to former Playmate Kimberley Conrad.

On Friday, Hefner filed documents in L.A. County Superior Court seeking to dissolve their marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences." The docs say they were married on July 1, 1989 and have been separated since January 12, 1998.

Hefner had been supporting Kimberly and their two sons, who have been living in the house next door to the Playboy mansion.

But things got rocky this year when Hef sold that house, and then Conrad sued Hef -- accusing him of screwing her out of more than five million bucks.

UPDATE: In the docs, Hugh is asking the judge to set spousal support at $20,000 per month -- justifying such a small amount by saying he's already given Kimberly close to $12 million since their 1998 separation.

7. I wonder if his health is failing. Why pull the plug on a marriage after all this time unless he knows he may not be around much longer? If he divorces her now, he can give her a settlement so she won't receive "everything" as she would if she was still his wife when he died. Just sayin.

8. This is just so... odd. She lived next to him for all those years and never seemed to complain about anything - then out of the blue just sues him!?
Last year they said they were selling her house because his sons were going off to college and it would just be Kim in that huge house and she didn't want to live all alone in it. So it seemed like a mutual thing.
Strange stuff.

14. With the money he makes it is sad that he is actually collecting a soc sec check. I know he deserves it but he doesn't need it. When I am old enough to collect soc sec there will not be any money left.
