The Hoff: No Beer, Just My Ear

david hasselhoffDavid Hasselhoff says he wasn't drunk yesterday -- he wasn't even drinking and yesterday's drama was all a misunderstanding over an ear problem.

As we first reported, paramedics went to Hasselhoff's home yesterday and took him to the hospital -- this, after his daughter Hayley called her mom and sounded an alarm. Pamela says she was told David had been drinking and one of her friends then called 911.

Hasselhoff's people tell us he was being treated by his family doctor for an ear infection and was taking Antivert. Hasselhoff was also taking Antabuse, which prevents alcoholics from drinking. The Hoff's camp says the combination of drugs messed up his equilibrium, he was feeling sick and wasn't able to reach his family doctor.

Team Hasselhoff says when paramedics arrived David decided to go to the hospital -- not because he was drinking but to help with the equilibrium problem.

Hasselhoff's people say he was released an hour after being treated at the hospital.

I doubt that the people on this board jumping to the conclusion that he was drinking are in any position of expertise to judge the potential drug interaction.

Maybe the daughter knew and saw more. We don't know. We assume. If he's lying, he's only fooling himself.

I pray for David Hasselhoff. Alcholism is a horrible disease/addiction that can not be overcome easily. If you have never been there it's easy to critisize his behavior. David is a sick man that needs serious help. I can tell you he does not want to be the way he is. He does not want to drink. It's the addiction. There are a lot of people out there that are afflicted by this disease. Alcholism is either treated or you die.

you can tell he is drunk on his show America's got Talent sometimes, that's why I refuse to watch that show because of this guy. He's as messed up or even more so than Paula!!!!!!!

Who does he think he's fooling?

Get Help DAvid.............. Stop hurting your daughter like this! Do it for her, think of her......... you want her to end up like you?

Oh Lord, I take Antivert and does nothing to me except help me with my dizziness...zero, zippo, nothing else...not even tired. Someone check that guy into rehab for a very long time...sad when he makes his kids be the fall guy

I am going to be naive I guess and side with the celebrity. For starters, it is nobody's business but his if he was drunk or not. I find it amazing that his daughters keep publicizing it (perhaps it is to embarrass (sp?) him into sobriety so I will let that slide.

However, vertigo is also NO laughing matter. I got vertigo after an ear procedure and couldn't even get myself out of bed. I couldn't keep my eyes open the world was spinning so badly. My mom had to call my dad to come home from work just so he could help her walk me down the hallway and into the car because I couldn't walk 2 feet without throwing up due to the extreme nausea. Upon arrival at the doc's office they had to get a wheelchair to get me up to the suite. Anyway, I guess I have a little more empathy for him and I truly hope this is the case for him. We should be HOPING he doesn't/hasn't relapsed instead of seemingly WISHING and JOKING about it. Who are the sick ones exactly??
