The Boz's Past Comes Back to Bite Him

10/6/2009 1:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Brian BosworthOne of the biggest busts in NFL history was just sacked for allegedly stiffing a veterinarian ... and it only took the guy 11 years to notice.

A vet in Malibu just filed papers in small claims court against Brian "The Boz" Bosworth -- claiming the former Seattle Seahawk never paid his pup's tab for "a week of boarding, grooming and a vaccine" ... which happened in September of 1998.

The tab -- $286.15 -- may actually be small enough for the former linebacker to tackle.

No word on how the vet plans to get around California's pesky four year statute of limitations.

Are you kidding? A washed-up, has-been, never-was football player/former movie C-lister gets an 11 year-old vet bill and this is "news" on TMZ? What's next? Blazing headlines when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin skips out on his 5 year-old podiatrist's bill? Or Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield doesn't pay a parking ticket that he got when he was 16? Again--ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? How desperate is TMZ for a story?

This guy is a mess now and was a mess then. I actually know one of the people who used to give him his injections when he played college ball. It's sad the horrible choices people make, whether celebrity or otherwise.

It must have been a slow news yesterday, why is this even posted. I think he has $286 dollars or whatever it is. Who cares he is being sued for this small amount.

I new Brian back in jr. high and high school and he was very low key, studied hard and concentraited on his football. His father kept him on a short leash and directed him away from the bad influences of high school back in the 70's and 80's. I never got to seem him play but I would say that for a kid from Irving, he did pretty damned good. By the way his wild image with the crazy hair was a rip off of my punk rock image. Everybody used to give me hell in school.
