Yadier Molina of the St. Louis Cardinals has plenty of free time on his hands now that his team is out of the playoffs -- and he might be spending some of that time in a courtroom.
According to a lawsuit filed in New York, Molina -- who is widely considered to be the best defensive catcher in baseball -- is being sued by Steiner Sports Marketing for allegedly taking $90,660 to do autograph events ... then never showing up to do them.
Steiner is seeking damages in excess of $175,000.
Sports fun fact: Yadier, along with his brothers Bengie and José, are the only trio of brothers to have each earned World Series rings.

YADI! NO! I love Yadi, I don't care what he did. I'm sure it's just a big misunderstanding. He rocks, everyone knows it. Some just don't want to admit it...next year, baby
He is the best catcher in baseball, but let's face it, he took the ball after the Cards won the world series in 2006, instead of giving it to Adam Wainwright, as is traditional in the game after a world series win. So it's entirely possible that he took the money and didn't do what he was supposed to do. It's not like Pro Athletes don't make enough money, so why should they be paid for signing autographs. Along with the money they make playing the sports, they should have to do signings for free at least once a year.
Hey! all you major league baseball players, STOP SPITTING! I really want to watch the series, but you guys are so gross, enough!
St Louis Fans love Yadi! You're all just jealous you don't have the Cards in your town. Look at the history...we always come back! That $ is chump change for him.
