Taylor Swift Is Funny -- Who Knew?

11/8/2009 9:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Joe Jonas, Kanye West and Kate Gosselin were all targets of Taylor Swift last night during her hilarious appearance on "Saturday Night Live."

After skewering her ex and Kanye during the monologue, Taylor threw on a classic Kate wig that looks like "a gorgeous waterfall of human hair in the front and in the back ... a patriotic fireworks display."

The only thing funny about this skit was the comments under the video. SNL is very lame now and so was the writing. Taylor tried her best though.....

She was great - much better than I expected; even when some of the skits were what i expected.

the T.R.A.A.A.P.D skit was amazing, she hit it spot on. I keep re-watching that

After watching her sing on SNL, all I could think was, maybe Kanye was right.

She was great in several skits, especially the Franks, the teen driving PSA, the roomies and as Shakira.

I only saw part of the show and it was pretty terrible. However, with the current SNL, you're lucky if something funny happens. The View skit was really bad. Taylor Swift did a bad job acting and saying her lines. I just now watched the rest of her skits and her monologue online... her monologue was silly and fun, but that's about all that was good. The skits in the show were just BAD, so I suppose Taylor didn't have much of a chance anyway.

Hun, it's called a joke. I'm sure her fans thought it was funny, and that was the point. Also, she doesn't keep bringing things up, other people do. We only know so much about her personal life, so the tabloids and reporters have to hold on to every little thing they've got. They take any chance to connect one celebrity with another celebrity, and at least Taylor has the confidence and maturity to poke fun at it herself.

The godawful KRISTEN WIIG ruins the show for me every time. I see all these women comedians listed on the opening credits, but for some reason all we get in the skits are her, her, and more of her. What happened to Jenny Slade? WTF?

i did get that it was supposed to be a joke- i mean, it *is* snl. i just didn't think it was funny. it came off as an unfunny pity party to me (like, "joking" but not really). i totally understand if i missed the point though. i'm not really a taylor fan and all i know about her is what i hear about her- the kanye incident and the joe jonas break-up. i guess it really isn't her fault people chose to talk about that rather than her music.

I thought Taylor seemed relaxed and rather witty. She could have done a Kathy Griffen skit as well. She was ALOT better than I thought she would be...Well done...SNL should do a mad men skit.
