Brittany Murphy's Husband Doesn't Want Autopsy

12/20/2009 7:47 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, told hospital staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he did not want an autopsy performed on his deceased wife, multiple sources tell TMZ.

Simon Monjack, Brittany Murphy

We're told, however, despite Monjack's wishes, the L.A. County Coroner's office will perform an autopsy on Murphy. As we first reported, Murphy went into cardiac arrest this morning and could not be revived.

TMZ has also learned Brittany Murphy's mother, who found Murphy unconscious in the shower and called 911, told paramedics her daughter had a history of diabetes. We have not been able to confirm if Murphy did indeed have diabetes, and if so, whether it contributed to her death.

UPDATE 8:00 PM ET
-- Ed Winter from the L.A. County Coroner's Office tells TMZ foul play is not suspected at this time. Some prescriptions were found in the house, but he wouldn't say what kind, and they will be examined as well. Toxicology tests will be performed, which could take up to six weeks.

I am a 34 year old diabetic. Diabetics don't usually go into cardiac arrest like that, it is usually a long term issue, like damage to the kidneys that can be a problem. Or going into a coma from low blood sugar.
Very sad, hope they find out what happened.

She went from Ashton Kutcher to this? What a slob! She could have done alot better than that. He probably drugged her to keep her with him. Glad they are gonna autopsy her despite what he wants. RIP Brittany.

When people are in grief over a sudden death, the last thing they want to picture in their mind is their beautiful loved one being literally slaughtered in the morgue! Give him a break! He wants to remember her the way she was!

Traditionally Jews prefer not to have autopsies. But it's an unexpected death, so it's the law.

hahahaha!

Diabetes is probably just something she told her mom to cover up the needles and shoot ups she did. She's never mentioned it and yet does mention how naturally 'hyper' she is , that she can't even take Sudefed because it makes her heart race. Not buying the diabetes thing and the fact that her mom said she said she had it. Now that sounds suspicious to me, like someone didn't want her Mom to know what was really going on.

Don't get me wrong, she was sweet I suppose, but by all reports very weird. Classic example of how no talent people get to be famous for no reason. She could not act her way out a paper bag. RIP.

RIP Brit. Her husband doesn't want autopsy....very supicious. He has no choice, it is a state law for unexpected death at 32. Unless he has something to hide or cover-up. Feel sad for her family during this time of holidays.

The mother found her? Where was lard ass? After all, I assume he actually lived with his wife in the same home. Who knows, maybe Murphy was in the bathtub for a couple days while he was ripped on H. I agree, Ashton Kutcher is a douchbag. No Nikon cameras for me thanks.

It's pretty sick and sad that people consider wondering someone died from complications related to anorexia as insulting. Anyone who knows anything about eating disorders knows how horribly people suffer from their disorder. Sure, it can indicate some deeper insecurities and issues, but it doesn't speak to her character or how good of a person she was at all. Maybe it's people's attitudes toward eating disorders that leave so many people undiagnosed.

He doesn't get a break. She was 32 and dropped in the shower (or at least it looks that way so far). She died. Dead. The spiritual component either dies or changes state very soon after (take your pick and debate it forever). Having an autopsy would only be a welcome process to the recently deceased spirit who would want the living to understand what killed them. Or maybe the dead would also want to know what killed them (take your pick and debate it forever). So there you have it. The "way she was", is, as you state and can probably intuit, something FROM THE PAST. Screw anyone who doesn't want an autopsy in a situation like that. Bring on the guilty hyenas or stop whining.

I think we all need to calm down, wait for the offical word on cause of death and then TMZ should put a very special chat or article where we can all come trash whoever was WRONG in their assumptions with this story! It could be like an 'eat crow' area, LOL
