TMZ has learned the LAPD has concluded its preliminary investigation into the death of Brittany Murphy and sources tell us detectives have determined there is no evidence of foul play or other criminality.
The PD is now waiting for the autopsy results from the L.A. County Coroner. If the Coroner's findings raise red flags, we're told the LAPD will pursue the matter further.
The LAPD did not determine cause of death -- that's the Coroner's job.
Well, it's good to know that the trusty folks at the LAPD are on it.

What IS sad here is that the coroner may be unable to determine a definitive cause of death. That too, happens occasionally. But it is STILL suspicious to me, what with all that happened with her husband in the last few weeks.
There's no evidence of criminality? Well, not yet, of course not.
Reportedly, her mother found her - yet - the neighbor reports the husband walking around in a daze in his pajamas outside when paramedics were trying to revive Brittany just mere feet away!
The husband did not want an autopsy. He's also known as a con-artist. C'mon..
I'm sorry but there is no reason to NOT scrutinize every little detail when any person drops dead at 32 with no known major health problems.
The fact that there were numerous prescription bottles in his, hers and her mothers name is interesting but I'd like to know what they were. That would give us an idea of what she may have been dealing with (pneumonia perhaps? Seems common after the swine flu).
This also needs to be filed under "Exclusives," not just the Brittany Murphy category.

I wish that all these prescription-related celebrity deaths (MJ, Heath Ledger, potentially Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith et al) would finally wake people up to the dangers of accidental OD and mixing of prescription drugs... And that doctors would stop "over-prescribing". :(

glad to finally see something that isn't drug induced... although sad they died, it was completely preventable... the natural causes just makes it that much more tragic :(
