If any of you know how relaxed the Palm Springs Film Festival is, you can understand, forgive and actually embrace Mariah Carey's desire to 'get comfortable'. Sean Penn added additional humor for the moment and the entire evening became even more jovial-courtesy of Mariah's moment.

As a long time Palm Springs, CA resident and attendee of the Palm Springs Film Festival for many years, I welcome more Mariah Carey moments and am so grateful this event can attract so many high caliber performers.

It happens to the best of us. I remember when Pink got a MTV Moon Man award and she was drunk as hell too.

A lot of pathetic excuses pouring in on her behalf?! The best thing that happened to Tommy Matola was being dumped by the "closet addict and basket case", Mariah Carey. There's a reason she selected Nick Cannon to be her husband, bag carrier, and the physical support to hold her up when she's had too much to drink or on drugs.

What's wrong with any aspect of our society who thinks it's okay for narcissistic actors and/or musicians to appear at an awards show no matter the location, get high on drugs or drunk, and make a fool out of themselves and the sponsors of the shows? I've been observing that she's gaining weight and that, yes, she's more frequently high than not when her photo has been taken (even in Aspen). Stop making excuses for her as she's going to find herself in either the psyche ward or rehab, again.

I love a woman who can be a sloppy drunk and still stand upright. I bet she can drink any one of the haters on this site under the table.

OMG!! Who effin' cares?! We all drink & make fools of ourselves! & I don't think she handled herself that bad. She did an ok job considering she was a bit tipsy. I luv Mariah I do not think any less of her for this. She is human after all & she probably didn't expect to win the damn award in the first place. Get over it ppl! Yup...sounds like The Divine Miss M has been knockin' back a few highballs, hittin' the gin & juice, sippin' on the sake, inhaling a few brewskis, drinkin like a sailor.

Mariah could stand on stage and take her top off and I would applaud!!!! That could have been her speech.......yeah, it would have been the best acceptance speech of all time.....Mariah and her bobblers just standing there.
