NBC Shakeup -- Jay Leno Comes Out on Top

Jay Leno is going back to his 11:30 PM time slot, and it's looking like Conan O'Brien is the odd man out ... sources tell TMZ.

Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien

We've learned Jay's 10:00 PM show will go on hiatus February 1. After the Olympics, Jay will take back his 11:30 PM time slot. What has not been decided -- whether Jay's show will be a half hour, followed by Conan, or whether Jay's show will be an hour and NBC says sayonara to Mr. O'Brien.

We're told Jay and Conan have both been told of the changes. As for Jay, interestingly, he'll get what he always wanted -- his 11:30 PM time slot.

Thank God. Maybe they can bring back some good shows at 10pm. This whole thing was as stupid as New Coke back in the 80's.

Yeah... first he practically begs for an earlier time slot and now that it failed, he wants back to his old time slot??? Next stop, The Price is Right! Hang on, Conan!

If Jay ain't funny at 10:00 what makes NBC think he'll be funny at 11:30.

'Bout time NBC cleaned up their mess.

But it still looks like they'll remain the losers - Leno's done as the Tonight Show host. O'Brien was the future - now he'll probably go to FOX and completely get the 18-44 demographic that The Daily Show/Colbert Report combo couldn't reach.

Seriously? As far as I remember, Jay retired, then balked and whined like a baby until this 10 p.m. show was born. It has proven to be a disaster, his ego is battered and now he wants his old spot back. So much for his "Mr. Nice Guy" persona. He is proving to be nothing more than a jerk. Dave rules and I wish Jay would just go and polish his beloved cars.
