The Dalai Lama is intelligent, witty, sometimes outspoken in his views, and holy. It is easy to understand why Richard Gere and others value his friendship.

Oh, now its Buddhism that gets knocked by those who have never spent time with the teachings of peace and true love and, yet, misinterpret the Bible itself. Separately and together, I love both Richard Gere and the Dalai Lama and I am not a Buddhist but embrace the good in every faith.
