Paula Abdul has had discussions with Simon Cowell about being a judge on the U.S. version of "The X Factor"... sources tell TMZ.
The irony is stunning -- Simon, the lynchpin of "American Idol," abandoning ship and teaming up with the woman who was unceremoniously dumped from "A.I."
Our sources would not say how far along the discussions have gone between Simon and Paula ... but there were talks as recently as late last week.
it was setup from the beginning, Paul and Simon knew that she would be offered the position on the x factor, who better than Paula she sings she dances so who else would he have asked duh!!!! the stunt they pulled firing her on al was just that a stunt! You go girl, take the money and do dwts that's mo money.....do it til ya satisfied......all the way to the Bank!

This was the plan all along. If Simon had wanted Paula to stay, she would have. Period. But he wanted her for X-Factor.

Paula must be running out of money? Paula thought once she left AI a ton of offers would be coming her way some did and some didn't. Now she is sitting on the can with nothing to do, Paula can't even get her show (that's because she stinks) Paula's big claim to fame is she was a Laker Girl that's it as of right now Paula is a NOBODY. Idol lost all credibility when they let Paula lip sync on the same stage she judges others on. Its messed up for some of the real talent that has wasted thier time on the show to get nothing but seeing lame old Paula lyp sync was pathetic. good ridens american idol
I'm sorry, but Paula should have been dumped more than a year ago when she was found clearly guilty of having an improper relationship with a contestant who she also fed information to give him an unfair advantage over the others. But, hey, it's Fox so we've come to expect nothing better.
I do not miss bleary eyed Paula who couldn't put more than two words together on all but about 3 shows. I was so uncomfortable for her every time she opened her mouth. Yeah, she has a heart, but until she gets control of her "habit" we don't wanna watch her slide into nothingness. Mary Blige was terrible! Talk about nasty. She has an attitude that needs some time in the woodshed. Victoria added nothing. Where's Ellen when you need her?
